Bayern 'look to Gourcuff' Friday 8 May, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are reports that Bayern Munich want Milan youngster Yoann Gourcuff as a replacement for Franck Ribery.

Ribery is expected to leave the Allianz Arena this summer and is a target for a host of top European clubs.

According to German website 4-4-2.com, Bayern are braced for his departure and see 22-year-old talent Gourcuff as his natural successor.

Gourcuff's future is up in the air. Milan sent the Frenchman on loan to Bordeaux when he failed to fit in at San Siro and he has excelled in Ligue 1.

Bordeaux are determined to keep Gourcuff, but may struggle to meet the required fee.

It has been suggested that Bayern would be willing to pay around £20m for Gourcuff - a sum Milan would struggle to refuse

Seeing as he is out of the UEFA Cup final I guess we will hear something official after the German Cup final on May 30th. He will probably be over in Turin for a medical before then though, then we can tell for sure.
