His saves aren't amazing or breathtaking? I agree with Sunny, watch the video and come back. Also, it's all good and fine to have a keeper who does spectacular things, but what matters when it comes to keepers is safe hands, which i've talked about earlier. A prime example is David James, he makes some pretty spectacular saves, diving and rolling around, but the next second he makes a completely stupid blunder.

PLANETFOOTBALL EXCLUSIVE

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has exclusively revealed to skysports.com the high esteem in which he holds Milan counterpart Dida.
The Italian international said he was left in awe at the Brazilian's heroics during Saturday's top of the table clash against the Rossoneri.

The ex-Parma shot stopper hailed his rival for denying the Bianconeri all three points with some mouth watering saves during the game.

"He was the man of the match," opined Buffon. "Stopping us from grabbing all three points with some incredible saves in crucial moments of the match."

Dida has a habit of thwarting Juve after his heroics last May at Old Trafford in the penalty shoot-out which helped Carlo Ancelotti's men go on to grab Europe's most prestigious club award the UEFA Champions League.

"Unfortunately, it's not the first time Dida turns the fortunes of a match against us," he added.

"I mean, all good keepers make good saves, but he gives a lot of confidence to his defence throughout the 90 minutes.

"I think, at his age (30), he has reached the peak of his capabilities."

Buffon also recalled how things were not quite so rosy for the Giuseppe Meazza ace early on in his Milan career after such performances like the one he displayed a few years back in the Champions League against Leeds United at Elland Road when a Lee Bowyer effort slipped through his grasp and in to the net.

"I think he was mentally strong to leave that mistake behind him and conquer his place in the squad again.

"It was hard for me too, when I joined Juve, to play for such a big team. After a couple of blunders that really annoyed me, I turned to be more relaxed while playing and I have improved my performances."

The Stadio Delle Alpi custodian is among the front runners for the 2003 Balon d'Or but he knows he faces a real battle to walk off with the accolade.

"Everybody talks about a close challenge between Paolo Maldini and Pavel Nedved, but you can not count out people like Raul and Andrei Shevchenko. We shall see," he added.

and Josh, if you have too much free time and you want to download more, i'll be gald to help if i can.

I agree with you but......

Problem here is that some people will come back at you to say that for a GK that's worth so much, they wouldn't just expect safe hands. they want spectacular saves too.

Then i'll say: it's impossible for a GK to give you spectacular saves all the time and even harder when ther's a gd defence infont of him.

Then they'll say: he's not worth what Juve had to pay for him.

But then ...... at that time, that was the amount Juve had to splurge to get Gigi. Any less and he would have gone to Roma..... Barca..... and whatever clubs were intersted at that time.

And we are better off having doing what we did cos now... we have a young, great GK, who clubs like Chelsea, Man U at 1 time and Real are roumoured to be offering even more for.

So are was it the right decision to get him? And is he worth the amount we had to pay for him? I would say yes.

ok, nevermind, i'm going off topic and i look like i'm talking to myself :p

Ahh but the point is, Buffon has both safe hands, and pulls off spectacular reflex saves :D:thumb::strong:

That's a good point... because our defence is usually pretty solid, Buffon might get fewer chances than other keepers to show his stuff. When the time comes and he's called to do so, however... :lick::thumb:

I know what you mean, our defence is so much better than Milan's and Montero is in just exceptional form of late :wallbang:

Inzaghi's diving header in the CL Final??? One on one with Roy Makaay, Roy shoots it low to the right of Buffon, Gigi gets down with lightning reflexes, saves and holds the ball with ONE HAND....

Anyways, I cant remember more, but thats because I'm not able to watch many of Juve's games, but I'm sure that there are plenty of good saves.

What about that Zidane Freekick, Seedorf Penalty, Parma's Triple save, Lazio's double save, Kluiverts volley, The whole game against milan in the super coppa Italia, and the games against Feyanord.

Yes... Dida is Pele´s son right???

In some way i feel very happy for him..... because in the beggining i still remember the lot of criticizing he had to receive because his father was a soccer god. This usuakky happens when a son takes the same road of his father....everyone compares both no matter what.

In this case.. they dont play the same role... but the people was still criticizing himm and with reason because he was a real crap.

Now he is a very good goalkeeper and Im happy that he is not living below his father´s shadow...and writing a history himself. Good luck for dida.

But still HE IS NOT BETTER THAN MCBUFF! :D
    Dida is Pele's son???????????????? :eek::eek::eek:
