Well the way i see it........





Dida: He's a great Gk and he currently he's been in great form. Some of the saves he's made have been superb and i think he's getting better and better.

His last game against us he was really gd through out the entire match and he made sure that the score diddn't read Milan 1- juve 3 at FT.

He is currently a threat to Gigi and he has all the potential to take the spot at the top.


Gigi:

I don't have to tell you that he's great right . The thing about Gigi is that he's got fantastic reflexes, a huge amount of skill, he's a better overall GK and he's very very very consistent. Some of you think that he's been a bit sluggish in some games, but he hasn't made any big mistakes and he sames to be snapping out of this right now.



So how to compare them?

Gigi's currently rated as the best GK and the thing about overtaking that tittle means that you've got to be better than the top seat. To do this, Dida's got to improve further and become as reliable and consistent as Gigi and maintain all these at the smae time. Gigi consistently plays at a very high level and that's hard to beat.

So as i've said somewhere above, i think that Dida's is a threat to Gigi's tittle, he's a gd Gk, he's in form and keeps improving. But we can only see how it goes from here cos up till now, Gigi's still better.

Another thing about being consistenly gd....... i feel that Gigi's always been regarded as great GK ever since he was young. Just like Casillas. That's why Juve would be willing to spend the kind of money they did on a young GK when they already had a gd GK like VDS.

Gigi is gd. He diddn't become gd.... .... am i making any sense here?? What i mean is that some GK's don't start out as great but along the way they improve and gain a name for themselves. Gigi's always been just simply gd.... so if he can improve on that...... i think he 'll be at the top sopt for a long time




oh... and it's common sense but i just gotta say it. It's wouldn't be fair to be comapring Dida and Gigi for the Milan match. 10 shots on goal vs 2 ????? If Gigi could be better than Dida in a game like this....... he'll never come down from the top spot

dida is in great form, no doubt bout that, but buffon is better. hes consistent with his great saves, and has a very wonderful characteristic (always the peace maker when it comes to fighting, very passionate juve player)

after the juve-milan final, ESPN made a preview on it and showed how dida cheated THREE times (he was too front) im not being biased but ESPN really showed it, so since, i've lost my respect for the guy.

but he still makes great saves though.

to sum it all up, buffon is better on and off the pitch!

Yes, he was a little too far ahead of the goal line for the penalties... It makes it easier to save because there is less area to cover and that is a whole different story that has got to do with direction, velocity and acceleration. I wont get in there, i get enough of physics homework as it is

But on my opinion of Buffon vs. Dida.

Buffon was great last season and is a very consistent player. He makes necessary saves and is without a doubt the best in the world. but on the oaccasion, Dida can pull off a save that would make him look like the best. His is not the best because he is not consistent... but the few good saves he makes saves milans. i prefer Buffon, because his presence gives strikers a shiver down their spine.

Every goalkeeper does it, and even if he did, it's not a criteria for judgment of a goalkeeper. If anything, having a goalkeeper who can gain unfair advantage and get away with it is a good thing! I don't think I would've had to cheat to save Trez's penalty myself, that was horrible! Zala's and Monty's weren't hot stuff either.

It's not really that complicated... without thinking about direction, velocity and acceleration...simply put, the closer you are to the kicker, the easier it is to save. Take the situation to an extreme, of course it'd be much easier to save if the GK was right in front of the penalty taker instead of 8 yards back

That's different though, because they didn't win those things because of G Neville.

Buffon and Thuram's performances were one of the key reasons for our relatively succesful last season.

But I must agree, there's already a lot of bias springing up, but what can you expect from a juve forum, especially when you're comparing the darling of Juve (to many) with a player from our enemies :fero::devil:

i think Dida is better than Baffon....

He plays in a better club . Which is a continental champion and do not bother to win a lowly national title such as Serie A. and he save more penalty at the CL Final than Baffon.

He also a Brazilian which is also way superior than Italy . u just cant compare a country that actually wins a world cup with a country that lost the quaterfinal to a team that never score even one poitn in 3 consecutive wol cup be4 that. to make it easier, just see the no of stars in respective logo.

he is also more creative in his hairstyle.

No. Dida is not the best keeper overall, When on form Buffon is much better than Dida, but currently Dida is in better form and therefor better than Buffon AT THE MOMENT.

dida is definitely the more solid keeper.he'll take care of everything you expect him to and pull of a couple of miracle saves occasionally.

buffon's catching is no as reliable,but he has superior reflexes and lightning quick reactions.but he is also slightly more error prone.

i can't put a finger on the better keeper but at the moment,i'd go with dida. but nobody knows for sure whether his form will last.

but give credit to dida,to displace a keeper at a top club is no easy task,and abbiati is no slouch,mind you.
