Dida vs Buffon (3 Viewers)

Sunshine, if you mean who is playing better now, then yes, Dida is more on form than Buffon, who really hasn't been himself for most of the year.

Granted, 75% of Buffon is better than most GK's out there, but the dominant form is not there yet.

If we are talking about overall skills, then no doubt, Buffon is better.

That shouldn't even be up for discussion, but it's a monday morning, and there isn't much else to do.

ahaa, and no one knows for sure if Buffon can live up to his standards. For the past few games, Buffon didn't impress me much, but maybe it's because he hasn't really being tested, like the way Juve had tested Dida last night.

I think that if Buffon would have had the chance to show that he is good, he would. But in the Milan game they barely attacked. In the other side, Dida really earned his paycheck

I also notice that Buffon is alot more vocal than Dida. so i think Buffy gets some marks there. He speaks more to his defenders (and sometimes even kisses them :dazed: ) and thats alot more helpful to the defenders as a defensive unit

To use an American Football reference, Buffon is like a Quarterback out there, he can read the attack patterns and help set up his defensemen's positioning.

I don't remember Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, or John Elway kissing his Running Backs or Wide Receivers, though.

Buffon is a better penalty stopper than Dida. Dida did stop 3 penalties, but they were all pathetic, hile Buffon really had to push himself to the limit to save those, especially Seedorf's.

If we were being straight, than IMO Toldo is the best penalty stopper in the world. Remember the Euro 2000 game against Holland???

Dida isn't a fantastic penalty saver, Buffon is better than him, but both Toldo and Freidel are better than Buffon. Dida only is good at saving bad penalties.

At the Cl final Gigi was by far better. Saving pippo's header and that penalty by seedorf which was wow......
I mean my jaws droped when I saw him save that...
Besides he saved penalties by Figo, Ronaldo, and Baggio so.....
