The Problem with the refeering ranking

it that it takes in to much account on merit
and less on grades

If there would be a bigger Scale a lot of very good younger referee who are reffing some of the regional leagues could advance faster and we would have better referees then Joll and Nielsen

Problem is that its too important how many games you have refereed
and how important these games were

Rather then how well you have refereed them....

If UEFA/National Federations Change this system we might see a lot of better refrees while the antagonists dissappear...

The way the system works know
(A Very simplified explanation)

Is that the Referee might get a grade 1-3 and this is multiplied by the magnitude of the game say Champions League being 8. This means even if Nielsen gets a 1 for grade then final score for this game will be 8 and it will add to his total merit score as a Reff.
This is why the higher the competition the closer the are the Reffs to the leagal Age limit.

If the system was to be changed that the Grade Scale was -2 (negative) - +3 (positive). The bad reff's could actually lose if they make a screw up like.
Nielsen and Joll and they risk losing even more of their total Ranking points if they make the screw up in a big game...

This would also enable young competent reff's to climb the system faster since they would have to ref a marathon of matches just to catch up with the old guard....
As the Case is now

According to the new system I would give the Danish trio a -1 for the whole game performance, which would reduce his score total with -8 points.

And sutnop I wouldn't say that Denmark should be ashamed :cheesy:
But UEFA
