Delle Alpi to be restructured (8 Viewers)

Which option for the delle Alpi: Restore or Rebuild?

  • Restore = Pisanu/UEFA compliance, 50k seats, same structure, same stands-to-pitch gap

  • Rebuild = 40k seats for brand-spanking new park socking us into debt. (Costs 10x+ more than Restore)

New project announced by Blanc

It will have a capacity of 50,000 people and will cost Juventus 18million euros.
It will be ready by 2010 and work will commence in 2007

here the full article in italian

(Nic. Api) (21/09/2006) (Spr)

That's great, but still we will have a stadium which is 12kms away from the center of the city...I don't expect more than usual 27000 spectators per game.

The distance to the stadium is not an obstacle, there are public transportation to Delle Alpi that work really good on match days.

Do you think that the lower capacity of the stadium will attract more spectators?
I don't think so.
The problem is not the stadium itself, the problem is location of the stadium.

the problem is the track for athletics wich is useless. if in the new project the track will be removed and the spectators are placed near the pitch..the problem will be solved

That's not really the point though. The point is that empty seats cost money. So if you restructure and turn the space of those empty seats in offices you can rent out, that's money earned.

And by moving the stands closer to the pitch, the number of spectators should increase. It's a good plan.

The problem is the running track and the atmosphere in general. Removing the track will create a closer envirnment and thus will attract more people. Then what Erik said is also correct.

As for the location, did you read what Paul said? Juventus played in Communale last week and the stadium can have 27000 and only 16000 showed up. So the location was not a problem then.

I repeat, getting to Delle Alpi is piss easy, so the location is not a problem.

i think 50 000 is enough for us. we have more fans in other parts in italy as in torino itselfs. but 2010 is very long and 18 mio sounds not much to mee what they gonna do? with 18mio for me they dont replace the running track

Delle Alpi used to hold 67,229 (most of the seat were useless throught out the season except for some games)

there is something whic is not clear.

    1. 18milion is a small amount to restructure a stadium
    2. 3 years is a long period in consideration of what can you do with 18milion euros

send your resume to the internal audit.

i don't care if they payed 18M or 18B as long as we get a new stadium although i think Grande Torino is a great one (but bit small)

Right on the piont. 18 Million actually is nothing when you speak of stadiums. I don't think we can do much with that. But 3 years is enough to build a new modern stadium. The Allianz Arena in Munich took less that 3 years and is completely new. Time frame and money don't match somehow.

To bad we are in B now. I guess this reconstruction will just be some cosmetical stuff. With all that money losses due to demotion we will wait a long time for a real great stadium.

This is official? If so, i like that it will be 50,000 and not the 35,000 that was quoted b4.

18 mil, i guess the sponsors r taking the bill?
