It's like a Co-ownership deal , but Palermo has the right to buy his full contract by tha eend of the season !!
ddaamn you Sucko..!!!
Well,we just have to hope that the coach at Palermo will be as dumb or dumber than Guidolin so that he wont use Lanzafame that often and which could prevent them from even considering to buy him..

I agree.. I've watched Lanzafame a fair few times and the kid has skill, but among the plethora of continual young talents i must say after watching him play i don't see how he dominates them to a degree where he warrants a place in the Juve first squad.. Ofcourse it's fun bashing Secco and it will even be funner if Lanzafame performs very well at Palermo but at this point it would be unjustified

Ok we can all calm down again; in fact, what we did there was nothing exceptional. We 'sold' Lanzafame for 5 millions, but are going to rebuy half of him for 2.5 millions. It's a common thing to do i've been told, and has financial reasons. So Lanzafame will end up in a comproprietà between juve and palermo, and when it comes down to choose the player, we'll have to come down to the 'buste' (+ i think the player can decide partially, where he wants to go)
We just did the same thing with volpato.
Now Lanzafame is a good prospect but very far from 1st-squad-ready. IMO he'll have little chance to shine, even in palermo. He'll have his games, and he'll definately show that he's worth something, but he's far from a pato or something (i've read A LOT of funny comparisons). We have to give him some more years to develop, and then we'll see.
So instead of bashing secco and blanc, i think we should give those people some credit; what they're doing with our youngsters is insane. We are earning big money right now, by selling half of our at-this-moment-not-needed players. thumbs up and good luck to lanzafame

Davide Lanzafame joins Palermo

Juventus today officially announced that Davide Lanzafame will be joining Palermo. The young striker, who had an excellent season last year at Bari in Serie B, moves to Sicily for good, but with a participation agreement formula contract.

Meanwhile, Juventus have sold another player too. After his experience at Empoli, Rey Volpato joins Bari (Lanzafame's former team, managed by Antonio Conte). The Tuscany-born striker has been sold with the same formula as the other player.

Thats weird semantics, misleading semantics.

We know its co-own deal, but they choose to describe it with vague terms as "but with a participation agreement formula contract." What does that even mean? Is it taboo to say co-own deal or the italian word for it, comprieta?

According to the press release in the finance section of Juventus.com, Juve sold him to Palermo for €5m, than we paid Palermo €2.5m to co-own Lanzafame.

Yeah, that makes much sense for them prolly, some technicality. Doesnt matter either way, as we all thought, it will be a co-own deal, and thats fine.

it has to do with the financial report. Remember we are tracked on the stock-market and we are very precisely followed, what we spend and what we earn (we're not like moRATti, who just takes 120mio out of nobody-knows-where and fires mancini to hire mourinho) By Selling him, we can deposit the 5 millions as gains, whereas the 2.5 millions will be distributed onto the next years - that's how i've understood it. But i know that this is a common thing to do. Inter did the same some days ago with acquafresca i believe, and everybody does it this way.

Palermo sack director of sport
Tuesday 1 July, 2008
While Palermo prepare to fire director of sport Rino Foschi, they capture talented Under-21 international Davide Lanzafame from Juventus.

The 21-year-old forward impressed on loan at Bari last season with 10 goals and had been linked with a move to the Premier League, but was instead sold on a permanent basis to the Sicilians.

At first it will be a co-ownership deal as part of the Amauri move to Turin, but overall Palermo will pay £3.5m to Juve over the space of three years.

He's obviously co-owned.

They complicated it a little bit but all that has to do with the financial books. It's just a technicality.

Since the rights to buy him at the end of the season aren't mentioned anywhere in our official site then i have to conclude that it's just a simple co-ownership deal and both teams will make a bid for the other 50% of Lanzafame next summer (in case they don't come up with another deal).

Basically, we sold 50% of Lanzafame to Palermo for 2.5m eur.
It turns out that Amauri's final price is 25m euro. 15m cash+Nocerino (7.5m) + half of Lanzafame (2.5m)

who knows?? i am sure Milan fans could have said the same about Boriello, and he was so close to be last season's top scorer

I am with loaning Lanza, or even co-owning him, but if we're letting him go for good before giving him enough chance, either with us or in another Seria A team, then it will be totally stupid, especially that he's a promising talented youngster

If we keep on selling our prospects like this and still have players like Almiron and Tiago in our squad, then i might be lucky and watch juve games in Denmark. We have about 2 clubs in the Uefa cup every year.

i don't think lanzafame is ready for juve now... so if we got the right to buy him back than it's ok...

and i don't think that all our youngster will now be regulars for juve... they can't be allt hat good
