He's obviously co-owned.

They complicated it a little bit but all that has to do with the financial books. It's just a technicality.

Since the rights to buy him at the end of the season aren't mentioned anywhere in our official site then i have to conclude that it's just a simple co-ownership deal and both teams will make a bid for the other 50% of Lanzafame next summer (in case they don't come up with another deal).

Basically, we sold 50% of Lanzafame to Palermo for 2.5m eur.
It turns out that Amauri's final price is 25m euro. 15m cash+Nocerino (7.5m) + half of Lanzafame (2.5m)
same amount for Huntelaar, give or take a few million :eyebrows:

i think we have something like an option on him even though he's gone to palermo.
i find it ok cos if he turns out good, we can still buy him back for not a ridiculous amount, and if he's just another flop, well we've got 5mil. the 5mil we got him probably will go to finance the alonso deal.

thats what i think

..except that ajax would not have taken nocerino or lanzafame, and that we would have to pull out 25 millions cash, and by doing so, we couldn't have looked around for a 20mio-midfielder who most probably will come. Plus we're getting a top-serie-a striker instead of a 'promising player'. At this stage, Amauri is superior to huntelaar. Hunter may catch up and be a whole lot better in a few years, but in the meantime, he's just lacking experience (I don't consider his few international games, even if he has performed quite well). I like Hunter, but i'm glad we did this amauri-thing. He has a good header, is versatile in combination with DP as well as Trez, he speaks italian, hell i can see only positive arguments here.

We only really sold him for 2.5mil according to the financial statements.. They say we sold him for 5mil but we paid 2.5mil for the "participation agreement formula contract" in which we might or might not exercise..

Lanzafame quits Palermo

Serie B side Bari have re-signed Davide Lanzafame after his difficulties in the top flight with Palermo this term.

The young Italian, part-owned by Juventus and Palermo, will end the campaign with the Second Division promotion chasers after a loan was agreed.

Lanzafame was already at the San Nicola last season where he excelled and later won Under-21 international recognition.

Involved in the deal which saw Amauri join Juventus, the 21-year-old was expected to make an impact at the Barbera but has made just eight substitute appearances all season.

“It was a decision I had to make,” he told Mediagol. “I felt the need to play football and needed a team which had space for me.

“I had a lot of offers, but preferred an environment which I already know well.”

Bari, bossed by Juventus legend Antonio Conte, are currently sixth in the table but just one point behind the five teams at the top of the standings.

How decent is he? There must be something to him that the Juve management like, and see as valuable enough to retain part of his ownership. I guess even if they felt he had something special, we currently have too many strikers to afford the youngster even a sniff of first team action.
