Well, Ken, you can't expect people who have never or barely seen him play to form some kind of opinion, now can you? That's just not how it works.
Ahh, that's true, ofcourse. That's why I'm on Juventuz, to make sure only experts answer my questions.

hands off Astori, you vultures :D

I am not sure why Milan sold this guy to Cagliari when it was all pointing towards his coming back and replacing Bonera - hope Galliani knew what he was doing.
He may not be a well known and exciting name but has been one of the most consistent and best performing CB in Serie A this season along with Zapata. I think he actually had one of the highest average match ratings among CB in the entire league.

He could be a very good addition to Juve, potentially ... I rate him at about the same level as Bonucci but Juve could probably use a better CB altogether ... I wouldn't keep both Astori and Bonucci on the same team.

Davide Astori (born 7 January 1987) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for Serie A club Cagliari and the Italian national football team.
He started his career with Milan twice going on loan to Pizzighettone in 2006 and Cremonese in 2007. In 2008 Cagliari signed him in a co-ownership deal, before signing him fully from Milan, for whom he never made a first team appearance, in 2011.

Early career

Born and raised in the province of Bergamo, Astori started playing football with local team Pontisola before joining Milan in 2001.[1] He spent five years in the club's youth system, after which time he was sent on two consecutive loan spells to Serie C1 clubs Pizzighettone and Cremonese for the 2006–07 and 2007–08 seasons respectively.[2][3]

Cagliari

At the beginning of the 2008–09 season, Astori was signed by Serie A club Cagliari in a co-ownership deal with Milan, [4] for €1 million.[5] He made his official debut in the top-flight during an away game against Siena on 14 September 2008, coming on as a substitute in the second half.[6]
On 22 June 2011 the club bought the residual 50% registration rights from Milan.[7]

International career

Astori played 4 games for Italy U-18, being first capped in 2004. However, he did not receive any further call-up at higher levels of youth international football.[8]

Astori got his first call-up for the senior team under newly-appointed coach Cesare Prandelli who named him in the squad for a friendly against Côte d'Ivoire, to be played on 10 August 2010,[9] however, he was left as an unused substitute.[10] He made his full debut fot Italy on 29 March 2011,[11] in a 2-0 friendly won against Ukraine in Kiev. He came on as a first half minute substitute for Georgio Chiellini but was later sent off in the second half after receiving two yellow cards.[12]
