Trez keeps Juve guessing
Thursday 1 February, 2007
Juventus striker David Trezeguet says he will wait until June before making a final decision on his future.
The Frenchman has been heavily associated with a summer exit after underlining that he would only remain if the Old Lady can fight for major objectives next term.
But the former Monaco man has insisted he has other thoughts on his mind at this moment in time.
“Now we must concentrate on the championship,” said Trezeguet. “We have to secure our return to Serie A as soon as possible.
“Only after that we will sit down and discuss my future,” added the international, who is contracted to the Turin outfit until 2008.
“I recently spoke with general director Jean-Claude Blanc, sporting director Alessio Secco and boss Didier Deschamps, but I think that the most important thing now is to work hard to return to the First Division.
“Napoli are right behind us and the season isn’t over. After we secure promotion then we can discuss and evaluate what is best for all the parties involved. It takes two to decide.”
The striker wanted to leave the demoted giants during the summer, but was not allowed to move despite being the target of Real Madrid, Liverpool and French champions Lyon.
“I need to understand the club’s overall project,” added Trez. “It isn’t only about playing the Champions League.
“I need to know that Juventus will be strong and competitive, that they want to win immediately and have fun.”
Meanwhile, Deschamps reportedly had a small row with Trezeguet during Wednesday’s training session – even if the Coach has minimised the incident.
“I want the team to have the right attitude and these discussions are normal,” said the tactician to Juventus Channel.
“I like to hear the opinion of players, but it’s logical that I must point out mistakes during training. These things happen every day.”

He'll stay, just like buffon.
