I know you could almost get banned if you say anything bad about Trezeguet on this forum these days but I'm sorry guys. I expect a striker to have some ball control but Trezeguet doesn't have any what so ever and I think maybe even Buffon is better with the ball on his feet. It's like he panics and just wants to give the ball away especially if he's outside the penalty box. He basically puts the team in a risk whenever they decide to give him the ball outside the penalty box.

I know he's going to keep on scoring in Serie A especially in games we run but in a game like this Amauri would have been the better choice. Even an off form Amauri is so much better for his teammates than Trez ever will be.

And hey, please don't kill me for saying this, I come in peace.

I think you'll find Trezeguet actually linked the play up pretty well.

He was certainly more use in the build up play than Iaquinta was today.

You got a point, but the thing is amauri can't score, that is his job while David can easily make it even though as you say he can't drible in the end who cares as long as he scores. Goals will bring you glory, while dribling will bring you nofuckingthing.
Dude, if Amauri can't score then basically no striker can score unless they are real poachers like Ruud Van Nistelrooy or Inzaghi. Amauri can score, he showed us that last year. I would rather have a player like Amauri who could actually help his teammates out then a Trezeguet who doesn't really do anything for his teammates. Especially in a game like this one where Ciro obviously didn't want to attack that much. Sure, if we're playing a team like Siena where we need to score then Trezeguet is great, but if we go to Allianz Arena against a great team like Bayern Munchen then I would rather have Amauri up front.

Are you serious? Trezeguet was nowhere as useful as Iaquinta was. Iaquinta was actually really good today. He was always running around causing troubles for Bayern's defense, especially van Buyten. He was a constant threat. In second half after we took Diego off he was working his ass off on that left flank helping Grosso.

Funnily enough, I thought I saw it more likely Trez to score than Iaq. While both were still on the pitch, Trez made something out of nothing with that volley and Iaq's closest chance came when he ought to have left the ball for Trez but didn't (not blaming Iaq, but from the telly it seemed so.) Iaq was pretty much silent I thought, at least throughout the first half

we had 2 decent chances on goal today one from camo which led to a corner and the 2nd by david with a quick turn around shot which went over the bar. their keeper had no chance of getting to that if it was on target.

amauri did nothing and vinny kept his head down and wasted the 1 chance he had

Yesterday was a great game for Trez, he made a great shot from nothing and would have scored if Iaquinta wasn't selfish and let the ball for him in the second half when he shot while falling down. If there was DP upfront I am sure Trez would have scored at least 1 goal.

Some people here are simply unbelievable. Iaquinta yesterday was as useless as Trez on a 10-game without scoring streak. The highlight of his game was running out of the pitch with the ball at the 15th minute and wasting a chance for a much better positioned Trez. Trez had at least a couple of half chances and like Red said, linked up the play well, definitely better than Iaq yesterday.

Indeed.

Although Yak had one good turn and shot wide in the second half.

Trez is showing himself to be first choice striker,
and the others must fight god the second spot. I would play Iq, eventhough his tendency to fall over like a sack of potatoes (sic) is very frustrating and embarassing.

same thing goes for david. but you don't see me posting garbage about amauri needing to be sold for nickels and beads to the first bidder.

its been stated before many times but people jsut don't get it:

we are EXTREMELY fortunate to have 3 cold blooded strikers on our roster. since when has it been a bad thing to have more weapons than our opponents?

I have a bigger problem with him only seeing the back of the net, he is extremely selfish. He needs to work on that the most.
