Is Trez playing for the French Olympic javelin team?

No, wait. I heard Domenech made a few calls to make sure that couldn't happen.

Trez quits international football

Wednesday 9 July, 2008
The French Football Association’s decision to keep faith in Raymond Domenech has ended David Trezeguet’s international career.

In spite of his prolific form for the Old Lady, Trez wasn’t selected for Euro 2008 due to his tempestuous relationship with Domenech.

France missed the 20-goal hitman badly as they flopped in Austria and Switzerland, but have extended Domenech’s contract, ending Trezeguet’s hopes of a fresh start under a new Coach.

“Domenech is staying and I am quitting the national side,” Trez said at Juve’s pre-season training camp in Pinzolo.

“The awful European Championship and then the decision to stick with the Coach has forced me to this decision.

“I see football differently to how they see it in France. Euro 2008 was very negative, but it was the faith in Domenech that really annoyed me.

“Decisions seemed to be made politically rather than for footballing reasons and the public opinion in my favour wasn’t respected.”

Now Trez can return to giving his all on the club stage where he is appreciated by the Juve fans.

“This year we need to win something and to do that we need to add players to allow us to make the leap in quality.

“The club is working towards that objective and we all have faith.”

i just don't understand what logic the F.F.F. is using here. i was sure going into Euros that Domenech would fail and he would be canned as soon as some one lifted the cup at the latest but the complete opposite has occurred here!

i know the argument that "who will coach the NT if Domenech is fired?" will come up and thats why he was not let go. but this is simply ridiculous! i am a fan of the france NT and it pains me to see one of the best strikers in the world (who happens to play for the French NT) basically being blacklisted by a measely coach. something is just not adding up and i know that its not just me who feels this way.

good news for us but such a sad ending for his international career as he deserves better than this kind of retirement with his history with the French NT.
Well I guess that stupid piece of dog turd can be happy now and he can force makalele and thuram out of retirement again. Domenech had the perfect chance to rebuild that french squad but he opted not to after the WC and look at it now.

Yeah and he replaced trezegol with that gomis guy from St Ettiene and he definitely lived up to his name in the brief appreance. Apparently he's the 'new Drogba' lol. As for Domenech, he's a complete fruitcake, he's definitely not quite the full ticket especially after that preposal fiasco lol. In terms of coaches the French FA had in mind to replace him was Deschamps or Blanc, the latter having hardly any experience and need i say anything about the former - complete legend! Domenechs also made several other errors, for example leaving Mexes out for Monaco's Boumsong and not playing Nasri, instead continuing to use the out of form since the 2006 World Cup Malouda, not to mention playing Abidal at centre back.
