I doubt there is any chance whatsoever that Conte is relying (yet) on Gabriel in terms of anything to do with his first team squad. If players like Elia and Quagiarella, both who have proven talent, struggle mightily to get a chance, a youngster yet to play in a competitive game for us at even primavera level has a long way to go to be seen as ready for the first team.
I hope the rumours from before christmas were true and that he will train with the first team squad. That is promising. He likely does get a certain elevation of his chances due to his brilliant form in the resende senior team last season, where he won best newcomer and second best midfielder. And looked, in all I have seen, very Pirlo-esque, but more mobile and more bite in the tackle. Perhaps he will hit the ground running, if so...wicked. But he likely needs time to adjust.

He has shown more potential in his carrier. (better passer to say the least and has better vision)
He is the only one actually ABLE to be Pirlo's sub. And at this age and time, he is ready to accept a subber role in a club like Juve.
He is less of a risk, as he is proven in a bigger team, for a longer period of time, in Serie A.
We expect him to be less overpriced as well.

As I mentioned up above...He won an award for best new player whilst playing for the Resende senior team in a brazilian league (Campeonato Carioca) which includes Flamengo, Vasco da gama, Fluminese, Botafogo. Resende seem a rather new team, or maybe a rather new team to the Carioca, which is a state competition, not national (I think). He also in the same season won an award for the second highest ranked midfielder.
The football set-up in brazil is at best, hard for me to fathom, but clearly, some of the decent teams play in both national and state competitions. And the state competitions, whilst likely weaker in quality than the Brasileirao (national championship), DO include the best teams, scattered by state. Resende may be small but they were mixing with the big boys. So lets say Gabriel was playing against some of the best teams in Brazil, when he won his award for best newcomer to that league.
