Whenever De Ligt and Chiellini return it surely won't be at the expense of Danilo. Has easily grown to becoming one of the most important players in our team.
Would be ridiculous to drop him. He's developed into more than a fullback and looks comfortable at winning duels in the middle now.

his confidence is massive too. he doesn't panic under pressure. both chiellini and bonucci would crumble at sight of players closing them down.

He's doing well in this position where he doesn't go up the field to support the attack, because we're too scared to get caught on counters with Bonucci. And then when the other team presses he kind of, sort of saunters into a DM position because he and the coach have no idea where he should go.

he is basically our new Bonucci from Conte era - a good defender who can make play. Its the other two CBs we should look at to improve starting XI.

What a start. This guy is misused as a back for years.

After last season I was hoping that he could be at least some useful bench player but at this rate he’s starter material. I don’t want to get carried away, but the Cancelo swap might turn out very nicely for us. Never excepted that he would excel on this position.
