Bonucci is, at the moments, leagues better than Rugani. A top 3 CB in the world.

And there is nothing wrong with that. Bonucci has so much more experience that it would be unfair to expect the same from Rugani

If Bonu is top 3 then the remaining two shall be Giorgio and Barza. Even Chellini said individually they are not the best but them as a whole are. Leo has exceptional passing ability for a defender but his tackling and air presence is very good at best, not elite. Chiellini for example is much better at those two.

That's how I see it too. Posters here mention young Italia defenders ready to come aboard next year or two who can be paired with Rugani and form another strong backline team. Of course I know maybe Juve can't win a CL title with present backline personnel but sure hope they don't spend too much at the end of this mercato for defense.

They possess one superstar in Alex along with 2/3 Italia defenders in 2018-19 would be sweet. If Alex WANTED to leave he would have been gone by now. If he deserves more money after this year, then pay him. Yes, could sell him for lots of $$$ and do what? Buy another expensive backline piece that no matter how talented is still an unknown fitting into the Juve system.

I found a very good article about him published after the game against Roma last year:

bleacherreport.com/articles/2682511-daniele-rugani-isnt-the-future-of-juventus-hes-already-a-vital-player

What impressed me the most is that he received his first bookings after 52 matches in Seria A. Whoa!!! Beat that Leo!!!

Come on, at 23 he is miles ahead of Bonucci when he was at the same age and continues to improve while the later is becoming old and irrelevant.
But Rugani needs to play regularly in the league and UCL so he can continue improving his game

52 matches without a yellow? thats very impressive
Yep, and apparently whole season for Empoli without booking or being substituted in Seria A. For me he is better defender than Bonu but not the better player overall...for now.
If I have time I will find statistics about him and Bonucci as I am almost sure that Rugani has more interceptions and clearances per game than him.

And allegri said rugani need to be more agressive. Play safe and fair is alright, but i think as defender, sometimes you need to be more agressive, and a bit dirty.

Come on.. Bonucci is a better player defensive wise, and he also have a good long pass & a good header that can decide the game. Bonucci is the better player, atleast right now.

Rugani need to grow peacefully, without people burden him with title the best in the world.

BonBon is a great header...if it comes to scoring goals, but he sucks ass at defending headers.

Rugani doesn't need to be more aggressive imo.
Chiello/Rugani is a well balanced CB pairing, a aggressive mofo in Chiello, and a calm player in Rugani.

How can Bonucci be better defensively when he doesn't even dive into tackles?

We're better with bonucci..
Chiello, Bonucci, and Barzagli practically can read each other movement, since they're been playing together for a long time.
And rugani did some fuckup too, like yesterday bad clearing.

Ps: before somebody give me a full speech about how talented Rugani compared to Bonucci, i'll save you some time.
Because i think Rugani at 23 shown alot more than Bonucci at 23. I'm glad with his development, but he's not a WC right now.

Who cares. Bonucci is gone. Fuck him now.

Chiellini, Rugani, Barzagli, Benatia. IMO now Barzagli needs replaced he is done. Garay keeps being mentioned.

We would have 5 CBs with Garay. Barzagli can be the last resort with Benatia.

We are covered until we get Caldara and Barzagli retires.
