Definitely Inter was very bad game for him.He was too afraid and Perisic killed him .But whole team played bad that night. So,one game means nothing. Can we all remember zillion errors who usually directly costs us goals of Bonucci, even last few years ,before he become what he is now?So it is a must to give this guy a chance.Maybe the timing isn't perfect as a only available defender but that's it.Time will show.

With Chiellini injured, Allegri was asked if he’d return to three at the back or four, seeing Daniele Rugani’s struggles against Inter midweek.

“I haven’t decided yet. With regards to Rugani, he had a good first half, but everyone played below par that evening. I think the expectations were over the top for a 22-year-old who had four of the best defenders in Europe ahead of him in the pecking order.

“He had one performance that was not up to his standards, much like his teammates, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be sacrificed or dropped. Rugani will become an important player at Juventus.

Chiellini and Barzagli have good pace actually, not fast fast but fairly capable and deceptively quick, especially Barzagli. Bonucci is bit slowish, and Rugani too soon to say yet.

Chiellini is like one of the quickest cb's in the game, Barzagli is surprisingly fast aswel.

Never got why people claim our CD is slow.

iirc its one of the reasons Conte's high pressing defence mostly worked

BonBon is really slow, Chiello is quick (well he played LB for reason) and physically he is very gifted, Barza has good pace, but he needs some time to accelerate.
Rugani is ok, he was beaten by Perisic who's quite pacy guy, but still main problem with in merda game Daniele was his positioning.
But the whole team sucked donkey balls, it happens.

The problem with Rugani is not his slowness (he is, indeed, but like Bonucci and many other great CBs this can be overcame with positioning and anticipation).

It's personality. He is very insecure, not assertive at all.

This is absolutely vital to succeed at Juventus. It's not easy though. He must develop his confidence in himself if he wants to succeed.

You can tell by his body expression that he's not confident on the pitch.

Case closed. This non-stop moaning about his performance and the hysterical cries of "OMGZ we bought a dud" should hopefully stop now.

This is the reason why some young Italian players lose confidence and don't end up reaching their potential til later in their careers. The crushing criticism of fans and media after one poor game is enough to sometimes bury these players for a long time. (case in point, Criscito getting absolutely schooled by Totti back in 2007, basically ended his Juventus career) These are the same fans and members of the Italian media who have been breaking Allegri's balls all season about his lack of playing time too.

Fans need patience. Young players are far from perfect and tend to make mistakes, its a learning process. He'll be a better player from this experience IMO, he can learn a lot about what NOT to do from it and thats better than nothing.

Remember, dybala was shit for a while according to people as well. Difference is a striker makes a mistake it's ok a defender does and it has far worse consequences.
