Can't really say that since Bonucci is a starter and Ogbonna rarely gets to play. Put Bonucci in any other Serie A Team, he'd be nobody.

He'll start for every Serie A team. Only Roma is debatable. Nah, scratch that. They play Astori or Yangmabiwiwia sometimes.

I'm sure he'd start for those team. My point was that he'd concede goals and suck. We make him look better in Juventus than he actually is.

I don't get why so many want Ogbonna out, when Bonucci is a worse than him.
There really is no concrete reasoning as to why Ogbonna should be sold. Most of this board just started hating him from the outset and kept to their opinions. Part of it was the inital signing fee, part of it was his initial clumsiness transitioning to a 3 man defence which he had never played.

They said he was capable of costing us matches when not only has he never done that but we had some enormous unbeaten streak with him starting, which doesn't really mean anything but it's simply a fact to reinforce the notion that you can't fault someone for something they literally have no history of doing (costing us matches).

And then at some point he got grouped with Bonucci and the whole "Bonucci-Ogbonna LOL :sergio:" thing happened. And whenever Bonucci made an error people would post in the game thread saying "OMG Bonucci-Ogbonna. We are fucked". Meanwhile, Ogbonna was minding his own business.

Now if you watch him in a 4 man defence this year he has been perfectly fine. He possesses more natural athleticism than any CB on the team, possibly in the whole league. His ball skills are still not great but he looks like Messi compared to Chiellini. He's at worst a decent backup and at best a potential long-term solution. He would start on almost every team in Serie A.

No one has given him any credit as a CB with potential but rather they opted to label him as just a shitty backup. I don't really know why when you see how physically capable he is. I mean, there are countless examples of his physicality and athleticism. There are recent examples like when he destroyed Okaka against Sampdoria but there are even more impressive examples like when we played Everton in the preseason a couple years ago and they were intent on going route 1 to that absolute caricature of a footballer Anichebe. The guy looked like he ate Giovinco for breakfast and Ogbonna made him look like a child on anything in the air.

He still needs to work out the mental side of things to be a truly great CB but you cannot ignore his physical tools at the position. And it's not like he's costing us games as he learns. He has been fine!
