he doesnt need to experience.we have Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini and they are Experienced defenders he could learn a lot from. the first step is we sell ogbonna and lich should be bench for next season . If ogbonna stays on next season, no point in bringing back Rugani.

yeah, Ogbonna has to go. i still have my doubts about Rugani returning though. his words about wanting to stay at Empoli for an extra year worry me (did he actually said that? i remember reading it here but cant remember if it was legit). if Rugani doesent return, Ogbonna still should go. we could either use Caceres as a backup CB or sign some cheap alternative

This kid is going to be a stud for us one day. Not sure what is in his/our best interest for him though. We dont need him next year if it means preventing him from groing but I think he could actually get quite a bit of playing time next season. If he is good enough we could do a good rotation if we play 3 at the back but if we only have 2 cbs on the field we should probably let him stay at empoli for another season. Not sure Barza will play long past that

We played Ogbonna plenty this season. If we sell Ogbonna then perfect space for Rugani. Who knows, he might be able to get a starting spot.

And if Ogbonna was, you know, actually any good, he would have gotten even more playing time.


A lack of matches next season won't be an issue for Rugani.

Exactly. Anyways, we need to remember that barzagli can bust up at any moment and turn into a decrepit old man, so we need to intriduce rugani asap, even if he is not a starter.
Also chiellini is being shid more often than not, so there are 2 spots he can cover just in case. He is young so its ok for him to have a transitional season before chiellini turns totally crap or barzagli lowers his level to not acceotable heigths.

I don't know how people can question playing time when they just saw what happened this year. Who would bet on Sturaro being a major player in our team at any point in the season, let alone the stretch run? He was 9th choice CM at the start of the year.

If I had to pick between Rugani playing over half the games and under half the games I would probably pick over.
