If you consider his rivals for the spot then yes, but imo it should be Romagnoli/Tonelli who gets called not him. He still only had few good perfomances if this is enough for Italy squad then im out of words.
All the three should be called up IMO. It's fine to play BBC as starters because Italy has no better than them but Romagnoli, Tonelli and Rugani definitely should be there. It's laughable to me that Conte prefers Acerbi and Ranocchia but it's even worse: Darmian as CB and possibly DDR would be Conte's choice ahead of the guys mentioned above.

Rugani has always been the better player compared to Romagnoli. Only thing he has going for him is that he is a starter for his club team but then a again Rugani would be an instant starter at Milan also. It's good to keep in mind that Conte looks set to play three at the back and Rugani is now familiar with that formation.

He is already ahead of Tonelli because he was called when Barzagli got injured.

Romagnoli should already be in the squad but Conte doesn't like change from his qualifiers selection so doubt he will make it.

Romagnoli doesn't look that good this season, even if he plays more than Rugani. It's not his fault of course, milan is a mess, without any hope on horizon it's came to a point when I almost feel bad for them. Merda is in the same situation, but they may rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.

Lol same here. A buddy in the office is a vivid milan fan... and he cries and moans every monday after Milan does another stupidity. I feel bad for him already, as he really likes milan and is hearthbroken :D.

Was dreaming to get to the CL this season but it seems that is impossible.

Milan and Inter are so shitty is unthinkable....specially Milan which was a majorfootball powerhouse... now is not even a third of whatit was. And like you said... theres no light in the horizon for them...only darkness.

As long as berlusconi is there....they will continue spiraling

Milan has some nice young italian players there though, unlike inter. Donnarumma, Romagnoli, De Sciglio, Mauri, with a few more additions this summer they will have a solid italian core which they can build on. Depending on what happens with Napoli and if they screw up with the Higuain money they likely receive, id say they have a decent shot at making the CL in the next few seasons. Which is their maximum imo with Berlusconi and Galliani in charge

afaik merda is more fucked then milan, they have some serious ffp issues that forcing them to sell their top-players (which are only Handa, so he is out), they pay Mazzari still and they will pay Mancini for 3-4 years more if they fire him, and if they don't fire them it's even better – that fucker gonna send them to seria b, their captain fucks his friend wife, they had jojo, pjanic, ikardi, perisic and brought eder in a midseason while playing couple of football wizards in medel and melo in mf and so on and so on
it's just a show with no end

milan just should get rid of galliani, bold fucker is outdated and from mihailovic who is plain disgusting

and we should go for Romangoli I think and we are secured at CB positions for 10 years to come, we have some assets we could offer milan

Its only Donnarumma and Romagnoli who are promising, and both shown signs of shakyness even if its mainly due to playing in a chaotic side. Milan had 8 italian players in their lineup vs Atalanta, but it doesnt matter as much when its very mediocre and they get beat by crappy sides. I laughed when I saw an all italian midfield of Bonaventura- Montolivo - Bertolacci and De Sciglio, with only Bonaventura being decent (actually their best player, which is a bad thing IMO), and he dribbled himself into trouble more then out of it.

Their lineup instead 2-3 players are Genoa level, they may have more italian players then the loaned army of foreigners Inter do, but I wouldnt classify it as more promising except the two mentionned more or less. Milan's blessing is they are so unambitious that they arent likely to get fvcked by FFP, while Inter again with their army of loaned players are in major trouble in how to retain them let alont add other players with the lack of cash flow without CL.

Depressing indeed. I dont mind them sucking against us...but their lack of sporting performances has really affected the league.

In one hand i dont want them to be doing ok...because they fuked us hardcore in the past... but on the other hand their shittyness hurt us indirectly because the league is very appaling without competitive sides who can put a show in the CL and in the league.

Milan has a good team, if they can keep all of their key players and young guys (yes, De Sciglio is one of them @Osman, the fact that you dont rate him doesent change that) and if they can add few starter caliber players in key areas (2 CMs most importantly), they can challenge for CL places next season. Napoli will likely lose Higuain, Roma might sell both Radja and Pjanic, half of inters squad is on loan + option, so the race for CL places should be more interesting next season. However, for anything more than that, like fighting for scudetto again or being a serious club who is regular in CL knockouts, they will need to free themselves from Berlusconi, and the 1st thing the new owner to do would have to be a new sporting director...

They dont have a good team, the fact they cant even qualify to EL for sure for and struggle with that basic goal for several seasons state that. Napoli and Roma have to self-destruct two times over for Milan to be compete with them in any way.

They do. Its a good team, not bad but not amazing either. They are on 6th place, 14 points behind 3rd place (and that only after the amazing run Roma had under Spaletti) which is a huge improvement to last season

Like I said, with a few signings, and Napoli and Roma losing its key players, they have a decent shot at CL next season

Their midfield is seriously thrash, they cant hold a ball , even less to provide the forwards with assists. And from their forwards, only Bacca is more or less consistent, the rest is fodder.

They need a good partner for Bacca, and like 2 good CM.

Theyve been playing with Honda and Bonaventura on the wings and 2 strikers upfront in a 442. What I would do is drop one striker, get 2 starting caliber CMs and go 4-3-2-1 with Honda-Bonaventura behind Bacca. Eventually a improvement on Honda if they can find someone but not a must

Almost impossible to beat in one on one situations. Reminds me of barzagli in that sense. The positional awareness will improve with more experience. Looked better than Romagnoli.
