Damien Comolli - General manager (170 Viewers)

I think I know what we’ve been through, or what we might be heading toward, so let me try to explain.

In Turkey, there’s something called the “Evening Market.” It’s what happens at the end of the day in local street bazaars. As vendors pack up, the leftover fruits and vegetables half-rotten, stepped on, sometimes actual garbage are left on the ground. The poor come and collect whatever they can. That’s exactly how the media started describing Damien Comolli’s transfer windows at Fenerbahçe: “Evening Market Shopping.”

It’s a habit Comolli introduced at the club and it stuck. The pattern was always the same: don’t make any serious transfers all summer, wait until it’s clear who’s going where, then, in the final week (or even the last few days) of the window, scoop up whatever players you can get for cheap.

Under Comolli, Fenerbahçe became a last-minute transfer frenzy. Even YouTube pundits couldn’t keep up. By the time the season was already underway, they signed 11 new players, none of whom were available for the opening games. It got so ridiculous that they had to play a central midfielder, Ahmet Potuk, as a striker in Champions League qualifiers and the first league matches.

As I mentioned before, Fenerbahçe had the worst start in their history that year. By the end of the first half of the season, they were sitting in 17th place. The Turkish football media had a name for it: “Evening Market Transfers.” In other words: dumpster diving.

And now I’m seriously afraid we’re about to see the same thing happen at Juventus. I am thinking about Comolli and Tudor and for the first time in my life, just hearing the word “Juventus” gives me acid reflux.

Yep I was aware of his time at Fenerbahce too, I was outspoken about Comolli from the moment we were linked with him, I don't rate him at all, unfortunately people think doing what he did at Toulouse is acceptable at Juve.

"Refreshing" :rofl: sure, sure.

Juventus holds no cards. You can't force Weah accept a move to the lower leagues in England, just like you can't force Dusan to play in Turkiye, or force David Luiz to magically become the next Juninho overnight. None of them really care about the World Cup either, apart from Weah, but with our injury record he'll most likely have to be used even if it hurts Tutor's or Comollo's feelings.

Did Comolli get a crash course in the "Fart of the Deal" from Trump in June?

This season feels dead on arrival.

Damien - what is the long term plan? You can't keep shopping for EPL rejects. Spare us with the data analytics nonsense, please don't insult our intelligence. We have all seen and heard enough excrement from senior manglement over the last 5 years.

I'm extremely concerned.

Trust me when I say this, knowing this clown we wont make any significant signings till towards the end of the window... even then they'll be underwhelming.
