Inter is not a club for profesionals and humble people like Zanetti

It is is for clowns like Materazzi, Zlatan, and Mihailovic.

Bayern Zoom In On Zanetti

According to reports in Italy and Germany, Cristiano Zanetti could be set to execute FIFA’s notorious Article 17 clause in order to clinch a move to Bayern Munich.

Zanetti was former transfer king Luciano Moggi’s last signing for Juventus in 2006, snapping him up from Inter on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old had a fine 2007/08 campaign, making 26 appearances in Serie A, and helping the Bianconeri into a third-placed finish.

Zanetti’s contract with Juve expires in 2010, however the club’s reluctance to consider a renewal has led to reports in Italy and Germany that the player could execute FIFA’s notorious Article 17 clause and join Bayern Munich, who are looking for a centre midfielder after missing out on Milan’s Rino Gattuso.

Article 17 allows a player under the age of 28 to walk away from his club after three years of his contract, or, for a player aged 28 or over, after two years.

The second scenario applies to Zanetti, and his agent has now further sparked talk of a possible transfer.

"We hope that Juventus wants to extend the contract that expires in 2010," said Carlo Pallavicino.

"In conjunction with the refusal of Gattuso, there was an enquiry from Bayern Munich about Cristiano Zanetti and he would be in a position to apply Article 17."

I have no doubt that he wants to stay.

Up to the Board to give hive a new deal if they want to keep him.

He deserves a new contract after how he played this season.
