Sadly, R9s supreme career ended with his injury.

he will always be remembered for what he did, but sadly he never reached his height in top form. UNlike Ronaldo and messi which never have suffered careere ending injuries.
There’s always a reason why certain players never suffered any injuries, but others did. It might not be known, but there’s still a reason.

Luck, genetics and fitness.
Genetics and fitness pretty much determine all the injuries. You can have different type of bone thickness, your bones might just break way easier for example. In a contact sport like football, there's also an opponent that might cause an injury, but it's still funny how CR/Messi have been targets for +15 years with very little injuries.

People tend to use luck as an excuse.

That’s not true. Back in the day Ronaldo was getting fucked by defenders and they wont even get a yellow card. A tackle from Ujfalusi on Messi and the whole spain was against him. Refs, media protected CR7 and Messi, and thats a good thing, Ronaldo should have been protected too. Prime Ronaldo is the best player in the world he was simply unstoppable.

Ronaldo got kicked around in the prem league from a very young age with horror some tackles and same with messi too its nonsense to suggest that they dont get butchered.

CR7 was getting the same rough treatment from EPL defenders on a weekly basis around the same age R9 suffered his two career changing injuries. Yet, he was still virtually injury free throughout his United career. Genetics and fitness definitely plays a big role in how durable a player is (with ability to recover & recuperate game-to- game being crucial) especially when it comes to muscle-related injuries. CR only started receiving more “protection” later in his career as his prominence in the game rose. Plus, I don’t even think CR or Messi get protected that much. I think they’re just intelligent in how they evade and ride challenges. Messi still gets manhandled all the time.

 While you mentioned one bad tackle on CR7, Ronaldo was getting tackled and fouled, kicked every week. football back then was very harsh for attackers.

If you watch the landing, he lands on one foot while being out of balance. Im pretty sure alot of players would have broken something in there, but it was nothing for him. That’s the difference and that’s the reason he’s been injury free for literally 17-18 years.

Genetics and fitness.

Riding challenges is basically a dead art compared to the days of Maradona. And that's due to the extreme added protection which attacking players receive in today's game.
