There was a whole Athletic article about Ronaldo's departure.

https://theathletic.com/2794203/202...n-to-manchester-united-how-the-deal-was-done/

Basically he was trying to get out of Turin and flirted with other clubs but the transfer request days before the season was a surprise and not appreciated by management
That's the impression I had at the end. I didn't think he would leave after playing in Udinese but it happened anyway. I just wish he arrived to a more competent management than the Paratici one

I've been a good boy for these past few years but I can't seem to escape my old reputation :(
It will definitely take some time for you to rehabilitate your rich, douchebag, cashed-up, materialistic, arrogant small-medium businessman image you’ve fostered on this forum.

But I can’t lie, I did kind of enjoy your posts about your asshole issues.

No, he won't. They don't need him, and they proved it.

Madrid are probably going to bring in Salah, or maybe someone younger like Nkunku, and blend youth with experience.

With Rudiger, Tchouameni and Salah/Nkunku, they're going to be even more menacing next season. Let's not forget the likes of Camavinga, Rodrygo and Vinicius will have more experience under their belts as well.

Leaving Madrid was not a mistake imo. He's managed to expand his trophy cabinet at Juventus and showing his ability to remain elite while at weaker clubs in his mid-late thirties has earned him more respect in the eyes of many fans. Atleast that is certainly the case for me, particularly after his hattrick for us vs Atleti.
