It was all a lie.
We know that Cronaldo wants 30\year and a 4 year contract, because this is exactly what he asked from Real.
So any fabricated news would use that to give credibility.
Transfer rumors gain credibility only after mentioning salary and transfer fees.
So the Italian reporters knew what Cronaldo needs to pay the 98mil of taxes he owes and his annual needs and it was safe to claim that we had a deal with him.
The risk was to calculate a possible transfer amount.
And this is where they totally failed and lost all credibility.
They claimed that for a man of his quality and age 100mil would do the trick.
But his agent said that for this transfer a total of 350mil would t be enough. Because the player wants 27mil\season and Real want Mbappe who is valued at 272mil.

The amount goes way beyond what Juve can offer and would render the rumor ridiculous, so the fabricated rumor included a more realistic approach, however too good to be true.

It was a matter of time to see that the rumors held no water, but they managed to sell some papers already...

Marotta: ‘Ronaldo? No comment…’

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta responds “no comment” when asked about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo joining from Real Madrid.

There have been rumours in recent days that the Portuguese superstar could join the Bianconeri in a €100m deal, signing a €30m per season contract.

Today Marotta and sporting director Fabio Paratici are in Milan, and the former was spotted by reporters in the city centre.

He was asked if Juve fans could dream of Ronaldo, but the director simply smiled and replied “no comment”.

@Mark describe the smile please.
vid posted...can't see $#@!.
What if he didnt smile?

What would you think of Beppe if this went through?

If tgis is all just a one big scam that blew out of proportion, why hasnt Juventus come out with a statement that this is all a lie and officially ask that this nonesense be stopped?

Juventus can't respond to every bullshit transfer story they're involved in.

Regardless, at this point it's pretty clear that we are, at the very least, interested in Ronaldo. Not saying we're buying him, but I'm sure Beppe is looking into whether or not it's possible.

Cause it benefits us too? Stock price increased, Juventus trending, smokescreen for other deals we are working on.

What you just said is exactly my point. Peiple here act like we would never in a milion years even consider going after CR and thats whats bothering me with many here. There has to be at least some truth to this whole thing. I know rumors are everywhere during the summer transfer window but this is more than obvious that it is not just a completwly thought up rumor.

Of course. But I think there is some truth to it. It's just too much.

I admit to not knowing a lot about our finances and the finances of other clubs (neither do the people on here who claim they do btw). From a sporting point of view the move would definitely make sense though.
