Nesta has gotten better since his injury, but before then I have never seen him play so poorly in his career as he had during the start of this current season. Man, he wasn't just off-form, he flat-out sucked.

Yep I agree, that first leg was a glimpse of the Lazio Nesta. When he got his A-game there's IMO not many players who can bring such beauty to the game.

Are you sure you're talking about C Ronaldo and not Gilardino? :confused2

I sense that you are inferring me from the above post, so I wil clarify my position.

Firstly, I have never used 2 goals to justify that Kaka is better than Ronaldo (Maybe by memory is a bit blurred with drink right now). I cannot be sure as to who are actually better. In anycase, I love watching both players, though given Kaka's well known humility, grace, and other "personal attributes" I would be lying if I did not say I favour Kaka more than Ronaldo. Beside, Kaka's performance against ManUre was more than just two goals. Kaka was simply amazing picking places between ManU backline and their midfield. He also carried ball a lot thereby relieving pressure on his teammates, and at the same giving constant reminders to United backline of his presence. In contrast, Rooney was pretty much anonymous for the majority of the match despite his endeavor. There is profound difference between two players general performances beside goals.

In my humble opinion, Kaka doesn't quite get the respect he deserve because of his general lack of entertainment in comparison to dancing players circulating in modern game. The manner in which he receives balls, and lays his first touch is totally unbelievable. I would tell local young boys training to watch Kaka's tape and disect his game. There was at least 4-5 occasions, where Kaka gave little feint or two before receiving the ball, which allowed to create half yard space to receive and keep the possession. No one in the world is effective as Kaka in terms of receiving the ball, and distributing it out of his feet. If you are talking about being elusive with ball, well Kaka is certainly not on the level of Ronaldo, but that would be his teammate in prime, but Christiano. Kaka at this stage of career is IMO is more technically refined than Ronaldo. Not when I have yet to see a guy who can dribble so fast without watching ball a single time through the motion. I like Christiano, I think he can so much in little aspect, that will inevitably make him greater player than Kaka is now in the future. But Kaka is a well matured wine that is ready to be opened up. Ronaldo has yet to achieve his maturity but could be even better.

Secondly, I do not hate Rooney at all. You are misunderstanding my EPL bias here. I have actually defened him in the past when people were using his CL goal record, and poor run of form, to criticise him heavily. I think Rooney is one of few honest players circulating the game, and I appreciate him for not diving every challenges that come in. The thing I hate is the hype that comes and goes with goals. If Dida had any sense of where he was standing at, and prevented that goal, then we would be speaking of relatively poor performance marked by one goal. But given the context in which the third was scored, suddenly Rooney becomes the best thing to be born after Jesus Christ. Judging from his overall performance, I don't think Nesta will be loosing sleep from playing Rooney, moreover, I can't see Milan adjust their game plan to make him less effective. The players who makes others adjust their game plan are the ones, IMHO, the really great ones. Bayern were scared living hell out of Kaka so put Owen Hargreaves (who I also like a lot btw), and Lucio on alert. Milan was scared of Ronaldo's pace so much that they literally gave inside cut to prevent him from causing havoc in their defence. That means lesser likes like Pirlo (1st leg in Milan), Seedorf (2nd le), and Scholes (the tie) to shine through. The matter of fact is Rooney is not getting those respect by opposition.
Kaka is a wonderful talent and 1 of the best players in the world, noone is denying that but I will still Place Ronaldo ahead of him because Ronaldo this season has been tremendous , he on too many occasions has taken the heat out of Man united by running witht he ball almost from his half to the opponents penalty box and what he did in Rome with manu 1 man light was just tremendous. Yes he does the fancy tricks and all that and people who are not man united fans slate him for it but its effective. the guy is blessed with unique talent and if others could show boat and be effective with it , believe me they would but they cannot. Rooney tried to showboat against Everton but his upper body looked like shrek's and his lower body was like donkey's. But seriously if a player scores twice in a game and especially the winning goal , then noone can say that player was owned, no matter how poorly he might have played . A striker's job is to score goals first and then its to create goals, anything else is a bonus. Forget about hype as its unimportant, besied hype is everyhwere, Italian newspapers will hype up Kaka's performance whilst the British tabloids will do so for Rooney.

Lets face it whole ManUtd is playing awful out of dream theater!
Ronaldo was also awful like the rest of his team.
But least that I expected was the miserable edition of Paul 'yellar' Scholes.
He has firm character & he was nowhere tonight, I was hoping he can make the game hole lot more intresting, not that it wasn't!
Any way I don't give a f*uck that Milan passed trought, they were the better team *calf* sorry, Kaka in both games. No Milan was awesome this seccond leg.
And hats down to Kaka, the winner of the Ball D'Or
