This transfer window took a titanic effort.
with last years restrictions, we had all the time in the world to prepare it and we also saved some money since we couldn't buy much.
Also a lot of our acquisitions are loans with the obligation to buy, which will severally restrict our future transfer windows and abilities to adapt.
So the transfers we made ought to be extra prudent with considerations for the far future. A future with many games in every competition, esp with the new CL format, so we need extra depth.
Considering all this it will take a lot of time in order to make safe conclusions. most of the players are unproven youngsters. most have talent, some have injury records. Their salary gains are obscure, but appear better than the past. inclusion of clauses are unknown. We used to promote an overspender profile, in order to become an attractive target. many players have managers of little history with us, so it's unknown if we got them to please their managers, or for actual sporting needs.
It appears we have new needs and more offensive orientated tools.
(we are stacking wingers rather than DMs)
Esp the long awaited acquisition of a starter CAM marks the beginning of a new era.
Selling off Chiesa for 10mil and failing to offload McKennie are obviously our darkest obvious spots.
But this only affects finances and it's over once the season starts.
Imo the low quality of options for the CB position holds the biggest sporting performance threat atm. Danilo and Gatti will have no competition and depth
and the italjuve project with Gatti, Rugani, Locatelli, savona, cambiaso and Fagioli, given starter roles mostly because of their nationality , rather than actual quality, remains a lurking danger.
Hopefully they are there just to appease the nationalistic pride of some our fans.
At any case, let's just sit back and enjoy a new promising and interesting start of the season!
