Very different kind of players, Zach...From what I have seen of Pasquato, in the friendlies and the highlights of Modena's games last term, he is very classy at free kicks, and has a brilliant shot on him from range. Whereas Elia, again purely on what I have seen, which is a paltry amount of playing time, seems incredibly quick with his feet, brilliant turn of pace, but very little end product. They appear almost opposites. One shoots with sublime accuracy, the other dribbles and beats players with ease. If only we could combine the two eh!
True, but in the 8-0 game, i also noticed he has pretty nice passing, and a very good cross.

a youngster with an endproduct is something we must certainly keep. its only logical half the serie a is lining up to take him

Without a doubt I agree. he seems comfortable and very useful for a formation which demands a left wing forward placed high up the field...if we are to continue with this 4-2-4/4-4-2 routine. Even if we revert to 4-3-3, he looks like he would be fine on the left of that trident, allowed to drift out wide, then cut in onto his right boot (just what conte likes eh?).

Promising to see him getting minutes with the first team. I just hope more than anything, that pepe doesn't take his place once fit again...

I want him to start in ALL the copper italia games ! And I'd really like to see him come in as sub in the league on regular basis. He earned it god dammit.

Decent, we need to calm down though, at 22 he should be ready to play regularly , sad serie a thinks players at 22 are young.
Agreed, very sad how young talent in Italy is being wasted away or stolen by other leagues ready to take a chance on a 20 year old.

anyways, I'm not sure people should be throwing up the "Del Piero's replacement" line just yet lol

Yeah, they're not developed properly or just aren't given enough chances. Sucks to see. Pasquato is definitely a must-keep.

Who was stolen? I don't remember many players really since majority is just being wasted and throw into Serie B who disappear after.
What she said...

"Italian laws do not allow youngsters to commit to contracts until their 16th birthday, a situation that United exploited by agreeing the move beforehand. Last night, United, who have not broken any law, did not comment. "

Its very true but thats Italian football. It shouldnt surprise anyone. your considered a youngster until about 24. I dont tihnk we'll see a change until all they old coaches and old general managers retire and the new generation starts taking over. But then again they could adopt the old ways because they are use to it so we'll see.

This could very well change when we will get reserve teams like they have in La Liga and the Bundesliga, such as Barcelona B, Bayern Munich B, etc.

Reserve teams like Juventus B, Milan B and Roma B in Serie C1 would really help the development of youth players.

The thing is, Serie A teams coud not at the moment afford a reserve team since they don't own their stadiums. However, since we will be the first team in the country to own privately its own stadium, this might change.

Actually, we could be the first team in Serie A to found a reserve team, if Elkann and co. understand that we need one.

Furthermore, we already reduced for this year the maximum age of the primavera from 20 years old to 19 years old, which we will probably reduce to 18 years old in the next couple of years. At 18 years old, we would send the youngsters to our reserve team and they would get valuable Serie C1 experience, then we could loan then to Serie A teams at 19-20 years old.

Also, I will repeat it again : We absolutely need to keep Pasquato this year. He's already 22 and loaning again woud be useless. If we want to use him, this is the time. I think he has showed that he's good enough to be a sub for LW/SS and if we get injuries(which we will), he might even break into our starting line up at one point.

Having watched him over ten times last season at Modena, I can assure you guys that he can play both LW and SS positions very effectively, even though he's a natural SS. He is also a free kick specialist, he scored 4 of them(IIRC) last season.
