Last night Molinaro (the Mole) was trying soooo hard to prove us, how we wrong about him.How he has improved into a mature world class defender. 
He was practically killing himself on the pitch (he was bleeding from both knee caps which was obviously painful but wouldn't stop running)
I admire his efforts:
His passing has improved considerably although most his pass are more like he's shooting at other players rather than passing
He saved italy's ass on one occasion.
AND most importantly all his crosses landed near the penalty area(I mean those that didn't hit his man to man defense)
But I'm afraid I must say I'm sorry moli this just shows what's your utmost limit is:
A decent defense who's major flaw is that "He is Sloppy With The Ball" meaning: he cannot make the right connection between his brain, his legs and the ball.
You are not a winning card on any team.

Say what you want, but Juve could now use a player who is always where needed. If the highlights from yesterday's match tell a true story, then there wasn't a single occasion where Molinaro wasn't in attack when Italy had the possession and in defense when the Estonians were counter-attacking. In some situations he was even the last man in the defense and did the job very well.
Unlike Motta who I see already lost his place in the Azzurri starting XI and De Ceglie who's not even considered for that place.
I'm happy to say that it's not even hindsight that Molinaro is a much better player, especially defender, than De Ceglie, because I already had my fair share of arguments with Cron about that in the past.
Molinaro is better than Grosso too.
We made a bad mistake with Molinaro. Similar to Ranieri's case. Maybe not by getting rid of him, but by getting rid of him and replacing him with a weaker player.
Unlike Motta who I see already lost his place in the Azzurri starting XI and De Ceglie who's not even considered for that place.

Only for the transfer fee and 1 year wages of Grosso we paid more than what we got for Molinaro. The wages we'll pay this year for Grosso are three times more than what Molinaro was getting.
Not only that we didn't get financial benefits from Molinaro's sale, but we replaced him with the inferior De Ceglie (for whose half we paid almost as much as the transfer fee Stuttgart paid to us for Moli) and in addition we got Grosso who will only get high wages without getting to play.
It's not a good deal if you sell a player for little money and you replace him with a weaker player which results with the team becoming weaker too.

Molinaro had a terrible reputation amongst Juventus fans, and quite often it was well earned... it's not like I've never criticized the player... in fact, I'm sure I did so many times.
But I have to say that in the second half of the 08/09 season, he put in some improved performances that were definitely better than what we got from our LB's last year, and so far this season.
Anyway, I've got nothing against the player, and I'm glad that he found a comfortable situation in Germany. He wasn't a quality player for us, but he certainly always tried his best, so I wish him well.

Tbh, though, I am not sure how big improvement would he have been in this Juve. Granted, I'd have felt more comfortable about the defense, but Molinaro is someone who needs a brain ahead of him on the left side.
In Juve he had Nedved and Del Piero employing him. In Italy he now has Cassano who makes Molinaro's runs useful because he always finds him in 1-2 passes. Molinaro is a bad crosser but finds himself in a position to cross at least 10 times per match. One or two or those crosses are bound to make the box and more of them will result in corner kicks at least.
De Ceglie doesn't have the stamina to do even 1/3 of those things and he's terrible in defense (often late to cover his position).
But in this current Juve, with Pepe on the left side, it is a question how many times was Moli gonna find himself in a good position in attack and get the ball from Pepe.

Molinaro's days with Juventus were horrendous. Everyone in here wanted him out, and rightfully so. We were even surprised we could sell him for 4.5M (?) to Stuttgart. Then he did well in Germany and I think that's what he's being hailed for now. Some were even pissed that we included the option to buy in the loan because we could have gotten more for him. The fact remains that there's far less expectations and pressure playing for Stuttgart than playing for Juventus, which explains his positive run in Germany.

Completely agree, buddy. I always wanted to see more of DC when Molinaro was playing every conceivable minute under Ranieri, but after a healthy dose of DC, it's pretty clear that he's not the answer to our problems.
I'm really interested to see Traore in action - considering I've only seen 1 or 2 games where he was playing, and I really wasn't paying attention to him - but his signing certainly doesn't inspire confidence. Anyway... I digress... but to complete the digression...
Man... if only we'd purchased Cassano and a proper LB... :vinny:
