Actually, it makes sense that they might think Molinaro is an ok player. Chances are Atl. Madrid's people have only seen the big games against Milan, Inter, Chelsea and so on. And at most times, Moli has managed to keep it together defensively against top opposition.

Granted that both DC and Grosso are not exactly top notch fullbacks, they still possess an more talent in one of their toenails than Molinaro does in his entire body; and No, the whole he is a good athlete and tries hard does not suffice here.
