Juventus are on the brink of selling Cristian Molinaro and Tiago to Atletico Madrid, according to Turin based daily Tuttosport.

The Spanish outfit's director of sport Jesus Garcia Pitarch arrived at Juventus's offices on Corso Galileo Ferraris yesterday evening.

He met his opposite number Alessio Secco and the Bianconeri's vice-director general Roberto Bettega first of all to discuss a deal for Molinaro.

Juventus are prepared to let the 26-year-old move to Spain on a six-month loan with a right-to-buy inserted into the deal worth €3m.

The final details should be wrapped up today when talks will turn to Tiago who has already accepted a move to Atletico.

A loan until the end of the season is very much on the cards, but Secco and Bettega are expected to play tough when it comes to the fee.

Tiago is the cog around which Juventus's transfer market revolves because if the Bianconeri can get Atletico to pay his wages and agree to sign him once his loan expires then they can go ahead and get a replacement like Cristian Ledesma in January.

So what happens if we loan both players and atletico decided that they don't want them anymore in the summer ?

We're back to square one.
We would have saved half of their yearly salaries and if they did actually perform we might get rid of them to some Greek club.

The sooner we get rid of Moli, the better, every time he tries a cross, a puppy dies in Turin...
I would prefer a straight deal, rather than a loan with the chance to regret and send him back, but Considering this loan is tied with Tiaga's loan, i guess both players, need to go that way. (and haunt us back, among with Almiron in June)

However, i m still hoping that Moli's agent and CR will manage to convince Roma to sign him on a permanent deal!

Molinaro pays for peanuts anyways. Tiago's wage is fairly substantial.
0.7m eur per year for Moli and 2.6m eur per year for Tiago. If you split that in half it's 1.65m eur saved. If we get 1-1.5m eur for loaning them then we'll be in a 1-1.5m plus instead of 1.65m minus.

Nothing really important for a club of our status, though. The important thing is these two to play well there and Atletico to buy them in July.
