The teams in the coppa Italia are seeded according to their form in the cup (how far it stretches I don't know) rather than seeded upon league positions. The higher seeded teams get the home fixtures in the coppa Italia
but you said due to their history in the cup. we have won 9 cups (record with Roma), have 2nd most finals appearances and most semifinal appearances. shouldnt we be ahead of them in that case?

I don't know how far that history stretches, it's a bit like coefficient points it is only based on the last however many years. Any ways this was something that was mentioned on our last coppa match by one of the commentators

against who does Cagliari and chievo play next round?
Parma: Milan (A), Chievo (H), Roma (A).
Chievo: Napoli (H), Parma (A), Sampdoria (H).
Cagliari: Atalanta (A), Roma (H), Torino (A).

I see Chievo and Cagliari picking up points, for sure more than Parma.
