Winning the Coppa Italia was particularly important for Milan, as it would’ve given them direct access to the Europa League group stage.

Now fifth, sixth and seventh in Serie A enter the Europa League, although seventh must go through the preliminary rounds starting in July.

Milan still have to earn that qualification with two big games against Atalanta and Fiorentina.

Yes, those are the rules, we won the cup and we qualified for the Champions league, meaning the seventh placed team in Serie A will get the last quota for Europa League...
