One of the 3 CB's are gonna have to be sacrificed for a back four, no?

Even if we were to play with back 4 still Bonucci would make first xi, It's chiellini who would play as lb.

Two individual errors (new defender and Gigi's howler) and poor finishing lost us the game. Not the formation.

This was our main problem along with Gigi's medicore display but it could be avoided. If Conte thinks Caceres is not good enough he should have played a back line of 4. Caceres - Barzagli - Bonucci - DC looks much more compact than deploying just a bought defender into first 11. We have played like that before those guys know each other and understand quite well. As for me it's not that much about 3 forwards but 4 defenders. If you have just 2 cbs you play them in a back line of 4 simple as that.

The fact Vucinic and Giovinco are better as wingers is another thing we could use an attack line of 3 but that's another story.

I'm not at all convinced that Peluso will play wing back. He's a LB/LCB with his strengths almost entirely in the defensive work (could've fooled us this weekend, eh ). Maybe Giach or Ashton for that LWB spot?

I'd probably go for something like dis hurr in a 3-5-2, right to left:

Storari; Caceres, Bonucci, Peluso; Isla, Vidal, Marrone, Pogba, De Cegile; Matri, Giovinco.

Vidal and Bonucci there to provide some stability (lmao, can't believe I just said that about bonbon). Peluso to throw him into the deep end and see if he can really swim.
