Grande Buffon, he makes it looks so easy. And I LOVE the new haircut, the old one was not my style at all. Our biggest signing in the mercato he will be decisive.

MOM Buffon, honorable mention (Del Piero,Krasic,Pepe in that order).-

Despite the overall comfortable win, this was still a pretty bland performance, but that's ok. Question is, would we be able to do better if necessary? Preliminary answers expected this Sunday, stay tuned.

And now for Buck Fuddy's extremely biased player ratings:

Buffon 6,5 - Nice to have him back. Concentrated game.
Sorensen 6 - Ok game, a few small mistakes.
Bonucci 5,5 - Incredibly error prone. Probably a bit generous with my rating,
Chiellini 6,5 - Good game, fairly easy as well.
Grosso 5 - No big howlers. We probably can't ask for much more.
Krasic 6,5 - Important & a nice finish. His decision making isn't that great though.
Melo 6 - Did his job, nothing special.
Marchisio 6 - Smart player, smart game. But why always the unnecessary yellow cards.
Pepe 6,5 - Useful & decisive.
Del Piero 7 - His best game in quite some time, but that's not saying much nowaydays. I think the ref was a fan as well, always ready to give the foul.
Toni -

Aquilani 5,5 - Average at best.
Grygera 6 - Decent.
Motta -

Oh, and on an entirely unrelated note, Russian streams are the best. Not only do they mix up all the players, I'm also fairly certain they mention the word cock every 5 minutes. Yes, I am easily amused.

Result was what the team needed, that Napoli loss could have been very harmful to our season. Luckily, Del Piero gave the team a kick up the backside tonight, enjoyed his performance. Welcome back to Buffon, you were missed.

Bring on Bari.

Is there any highlights?

We couldn't ask for more. Gigi mad his come-back (I hope he starts on Sunday). Our Captain put in some brilliant show, Krasic scored and the rest were good except with few things that we really need to adjust defensively.

Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know we wouldn't have won without Del Piero. Great match from him, his best this season.

But Catania fielded a weak squad and looked very poor. The marking for the goals was horrendous.

Hopefully we can take the momentum from this and put it back towards Serie A, but caution must be urged because our opponents were terrible.

    Welcome back Gigi.

This is exactly the formation that I wanted to see. 4-5-1, 4-3-3 and sometimes a 4-6-0. I'm sick of that 4-4-2 with Marchisio on the left wing.

Alex and Gigi. What could we do without you? The moment Ale went to give Buffon his armband I was literally shaking with excitement. It feels so good having Gigi back.

Apart from them, I really liked Melo and Pepe tonight. The latter was literally everywhere on the pitch. From a LW to a ST to a RW. Excellent workrate.

    Forza Juve!

Good game, the win was exactly what we needed. As well as Buffon and the clean sheet.

I shit bricks when Dippy fell.

Such a shame we lost Toni, hopefully it is nothing serious.

And the 4-3-3 should be deployed more.

Whole team played well, Melo was great, Marchisio was good and Aquilani was neat.
Alex was a beast, MOM, Pepe and Krasic also played well. Defense was pretty good, bar a few moments where it was too easy for Catania to cut through it, but we kept a clean sheet which was pretty crucial so . Hopefully Toni is ok, great seeing Gigi back and was a nice image when Alex handed him the armband. Hopefully we can continue and get a good win against Bari as that is all that really matters.
