I liked Poulsen in the first half.Smart passes overall plus he opened the game with a few long range passes. He was getting tired after 60 minutes but hey,who can blame him?He was injured for a long time.If he's fully fit it will be interesting to see who is going to play next to Sissoko.I'd play Sissoko-Poulsen in case Giovinco is starting on the left.Otherwise I'd play Sissoko-Tiago all the way.

One way or another that will probably be proved a morale booster and might stop our crisis (hopefully)
It wasn't any good performance by the team, thou we woke up at the end of the match, and specially in extra time, but it's good to see the players happy, or feel like they won something, I hope that will affect positively and give them the desire to win and fight.

Can you be more specific? What ratings were boosted up?
let's take a closer look (just my opinion)

vSnoops Ratings:

Manninger 6.5
i agree on this one
Grygera 4.5
Legrotaglie 6.5
legrottaglie had some "nervous" moment where he did foul in unnecessary positions, so i would rate him slightly less than mellberg, but this is only a nuance
Mellberg 6.5
ok with this one
Molinaro 6+
did defensively his job and did make runs ... at least the same rating as mellberg, if not more ... his commitment was the best and even if he runs and does not get the ball there he can bind a opposing player by making that runs, so that should make life easier for the others

Marchionni 5.5+
Giovinco 5.5
could argue on this one, gio did what he could, but respect for napoli, because the did achieve that he only got the ball far away from their goal
Poulsen 5+
i do not know if you do rate, that he was either injuried or lacking stamina in the end, but he was clearly the better one out of the central midfield. distributed the ball really good, hardly put a foot wrong
Sissoko 6+
did unnecessary stuff in roaming to far forward, where, when he got the ball, he was absolutely useless (i might even say marchionni-useless). he clumsily lost the ball when he was to far over the halfway line and did not only lose the ball there often, but so leave a space behind him, that could have been exploited by a team like udinese or cagliari
Del Piero 6+
heavily biased in my opinion. for me there a no two ways about this. a player that does lose at least 80% of the balls he received because he tries to dribble will no way get any rating above 5.5. Add to this, that he did let himself fall down on at least 10 occasions instead of fighting for the ball. funnily the ref did not fall for that and did not give a freekick in 90% of his "dives". fighting was certainly not on his schedule tonight
Iaquinta 5.5
i agree to that
Trezeguet 5.5
also have to agree
Nedved 5
same here
Ranieri 4.5
apart from the gio sub, he was alright i guess. perhaps he did take giovinco off, because they really tried to slaughter him there ... i don't know, but yes i know you will try to read the worst out of that substitution, because ranieri is the devil

A big grazie to Contini and Gargano, and great pens by alex, trezeguet, marchionni and Legrottaglie. Navarro did well to save Nedved's penalty.

Trezeguet should start on sunday alongside Delpiero.
I would like to see it too as Trez gives us lethality and goals. But seeing how Amauri was rested I think he should start. Trez played a solid 50+ min today. He is just coming back. I dont think we should play him from the start over the weekend.

But he should defn play some part. As should Camo.

Del Piero isn't in crisis, he just had a bad match and it's mostly because Napoli players knew that he's our best player and our most dangerous player by far. They kept marking him with 2 or 3 players, and it exhausted him, which resulted with some bad play even when he wasn't marked by 2 players.

He gave his all, he left his soul on the pitch, but it was bad overall and he was one of our worst performers tonight. That's why i gave him one of the worst ratings. No need to feel bad about it. He'll be our best player on the next match. Catania is his regular customer ;)
