The draw for the new-look Coppa Italia has been made and Juventus will face Parma in the third round.
The tournament has been revamped to try and recapture the public’s attention in the wake of poor attendances and thinning TV audiences.
This year there will be no Serie C sides involved. There will be 42 entrants – every side from the top two tiers – with the first three rounds and the Final being single matches instead of two-legged contests.
Napoli and Genoa will have to play in the first round as they finished second and third in Serie B last term, but Juventus move straight through to the third round.
The third round also sees Serie A sides who finished between ninth and 17th enter the fray. The only two clashes already definite see Juve face Parma and Cagliari play Siena on August 29.
