Antonio Conte remained reflective after seeing the Bianconeri surrender their unbeaten record in tonight’s Coppa Italia final defeat to Napoli. Despite missing out on a historic double, the manager chose to focus on the positives from a remarkable first campaign in charge.
“I’m sorry about the result,” said Conte. “I don’t like losing and nobody should do either, especially when a trophy’s at stake. We’ll look to learn from these moments.”
“However, we’ll congratulate Napoli on their victory. We faced a strong team, who went out in the Champions League against the eventual winners.
“What remains is the fact that our team is extraordinary - that must always be kept in mind. I must thank all my players for what they’ve done, in particular Del Piero who, alongside Buffon and Pirlo, has been one of the benchmarks of this side.”
