Antonio Conte believes the Bianconeri can take positives from this evening’s TIM Trophy in Bari.
The 42-year-old saw his men produce some bright passages of play against Inter and Milan and, despite injury concerns over Vucinic, Pepe and Caceres, remains focused on the plus points.
“Vucinic went off with cramp,” he told Mediaset at the final whistle. “I fear Pepe’s pulled a muscle and I don’t yet know about Caceres. It’s a shame for such a good tournament, followed by many people, to be played on a surface that favours injuries and doesn’t allow for good football.”
“We faced important teams this evening. Despite blooding new players and the many absences, we’re working hard for everyone to understand the way we want to play.
“I saw positive aspects, but we know there’s a lot to do and we’ll grow. I thought the defence of Masi, Caceres and Lucio did well. The Brazilian still needs to understand certain mechanisms of our play, but he’s willing and will be a strong point.”
