We are the Inter of Champions League finals

So really, why do we even bother? If there was some way of winning the tournament without playing the final, we would, but there's no way around it. :wallbang: It's a total waste, the luckier we get toward the end, the more rounds we pass without really convincing anyone, the more we're setting ourselves up for the upset on the finish line. :lazy:

How long will the losing streak continue? :dazed: Will it take Inter to win the scudetto before we can win a final again?

And you thought there was no way to tie us to Inter :p

I disagree with the premise. We've won the CL twice in the time that Inter has only won the Scudetto once.

But comparing how often Inter wins the Scudetto with how often Juve wins the CL is a bit of a mismatch, IMO. The odds and challanges of the two are on such a different order, that our humiliation in the CL pales in comparison to Inter's Serie A record of recent years.

I think it's just a combination of bad luck, and the fact that we always face the current best team in the world in the final. If we had played against Leverkusen in 2003 we would have won for sure, but instead we got Milan in top form.

Milan in top form in 2003?
we were the faves for the final.we had been in much better form.
milan had a crappy season in the league where they came 3rd.
we were the faves for the 2003 final against milan, but the old final phobia came to haunt us again.
though nedved being suspended can be called bad luck.

You gotta look at things in perspective though. If you're a serious title contender in your domestic league ie Real or Barca in Spain, Inter, Milan or Juve in Italy etc. then any place lower than first could be seen as a failure.

In the CL though, the difference betwen success and "failure" is very small, and to go out only as finalists is no failure. There are probably 12 teams that have a realistic chance of winning it every year, so the other eleven who don't end up winning haven't necessarily failed.

I for one view the fact that we share the honour for having lost the most CL finals along with Benfica is an achievement in itself.

we are the team with the most CL final apperances in the past 15 years:cool:
Which can be looked at 2 ways:

1. we're a fantastic team (the way I look at it) or

2. we choke when it really matters:down:

I will niver forget that final against Milan,
i hope some day we will teach them the same lesson,
this is what i want to see before i go.
Others have luck,
we have class,
we fight for our succes,we deserve to win,but life isnt fair.
CL has a form of a cup not a league,
the best team doesnt win it, but the luckiest does,
a team has to be as strong as Pool and Porto were, to beat it,
this is how Uefa want it,
(to make it more interesting for the masses)
we won it and we prooved to be the best team in europe so many times, thats enough for me...
