Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri isn't taking anything for granted ahead of the Old Lady's trip to Bologna tomorrow.

The Bianconeri have just come through a tough period and are on a high after triumphing over Real Madrid and winning the Derby della Mole against Torino.

Bologna, on the other hand, were beaten by Sampdoria last weekend and have managed to pick up just six points all season.

But Ranieri, who has a heavily depleted squad at his disposal, is wary of the Rossoblu threat.

“The game against Bologna will be tremendously difficult,” Ranieri claimed.

“They are a team that fight hard, especially against the bigger teams - you just have to see how they performed away to Milan and at home to Lazio.

“Considering all the injuries that we have, the points we can get now are important,” the former Chelsea tactician continued.

“We arrive at this game after two excellent performances and we want to continue along those lines.

“Our objective remains to improve on last season's finish and to do well in the Champions League.

“At the moment we have two more points than we had at this stage last year.”

Azzurri winger Mauro Camoranesi is ready to return, but he isn't 100 per cent.

“He is in the process of recovery,” Ranieri explained. “It's good news that he is back, but he isn't in perfect condition yet.”

The bolded part is not true at all. We played 8 rounds so far and we have 12 pts. Ranieri says that we have 2 more pts than we had at this stage last season, but these are the results of the opening 8 rounds last year :
1. H Livorno 5:1 (3pts)
2. A Cagliari 3:2 (3pts)
3. H Udinese 0:1 (0 pts)
4. A Roma 2:2 (1pt)
5. H Reggina 4:0 (3 pts)
6. A Torino 1:0 (3pts)
7. A Fiorentina 1:1 (1pt)
8. H Genoa 1:0 (3pts)

We had 17 pts at this stage last year and it's 5 pts more than what we have now. With last year's record in the opening 8 rounds we'd have been serie A leaders now.
He is also poor in arithmetics :D

Well done Mr. CR.

No one said anything about our win against Bologna, but hey..

Anyway, 4 wins in row, this is what we want. Keep working hard, and give us another win against Real.

Ranieri: Juve are the Real deal Tuesday 4 November, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Claudio Ranieri feels the win over Real Madrid was the turning point in Juventus’ season and they are far stronger now flying to Spain.

The Bianconeri were under a great deal of pressure ahead of the first leg of their Champions League clash, beating the Merengues 2-1 in Turin.

“The first leg gave us the confidence in our abilities in a difficult moment,” said Ranieri.

“It was a powerful shake-up that allowed us to continue our march with more belief in our potential and our strength.”

Since then Juve have progressed in leaps and bounds, beating Torino, Bologna and Roma in confident fashion despite an injury crisis.

The tables have turned somewhat, as now it is Real who come into this game looking for a morale-boosting result.

“Every team has to go through a moment like that in the course of a campaign, but I shall reply more or less the same way Bernd Schuster did in Turin: I don’t believe Real are in crisis, but a team that wants to do well in front of their own fans.

“In any case, we are ready. There is no need to motivate the squad, as this is one of the most prestigious arenas in football and it is always exciting to play here.

“There are players, like Alessandro Del Piero, who have already experienced it. Others must not let it get to them, instead focused on playing the way they know how.”

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is in doubt for Madrid, while Juve are still without Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Cristiano Zanetti, Christian Poulsen, Hasan Salihamidzic, Zdenek Grygera and Dario Knezevic.

It’s a shame so many stars are missing, because a game like this deserves to have everyone at full strength,” added Ranieri.

“If Van Nistelrooy doesn’t play, I’m sure another world class figure will step in. As for our side, we are trying to get Mauro Camoranesi back to full fitness so he can handle 90 minutes.

“It is damaging to always change the line-up because of injuries, because players create a unity by working together and that is difficult to recreate when chopping and changing.”
