Ranieri: «A game of two halves, we were excellent in the second one»

Claudio Ranieri is in a different frame of mind compared to the last away game. In Rome, the manager had been more pleased about the result than the performance, after the Catania game there’s more regret for the two points lost in Sicily: «It was a game of two halves. In the first half, we struggled and playing with a rhombus-shaped midfield formation we were unable to find space, especially after their goal, when they closed shop at the back. I preferred returning to a 4-4-2 formation in the second half and we forced Catania to stay back. We made some mistakes, especially the last pass in front of goal, but the team never gave up, just the way I like it».

In what way was our second half better? We passed less, we used more long balls and gave away the ball to Catania more times letting them counter attack us.

I'm sorry for the ones who love rainieri, but he isn't THE coach we need in this phase of growth. We need Mourinho. He is the one who can lead us to great victories!!!

The answer is so simple. All this loan bullshit has gone on long enough. Loan out players that are in excess to requirements and I say fine. We need creativity in the midfield though. Everyone agrees...yet Giovinco is gaining experience in Tuscany. Anyone remember the formation in 1996? We had a diamond midfield and won the CL. If Ranieri had a testicle left he would use the four man diamond midfield with Tiago sitting back as the CDM (his natural position). Leave Camo and Pavel on the flanks (eventually VdV because he is coming) and put that little wizard as the CAM. He's a natural Trequartista and would open up defences. All this "he needs experience" crap is retarded. Let him get the experience at Juve. If he had one good play per game it would be an improvement for us.

Nocerino is not a midfielder by the way. He runs and wins balls but can't pass...he's a CB.

BRING BACK GIOVINCO!

Don't tell me me that you don't know what position does Tiago play?!!
We is not a CDM and not for sure an CAM, he´s position is CM, with a player beyond and above him. In Juventus he never played in his natural position, so don't expect that he do all the miracles that Juventus need right now!

Mourinho is a nightmare. I know he's a genius but he likes to call shots and that doesn't work at Juve. The Juve society is bigger than any individual and he would fight with management constantly.
I think he was spoilt at Chelsea. He is the best option though.

Does Ranieri still think that VDV is 'how midfielders are NOT supposed to be in Italy?'
Why replace a great player with another great player? I think we should go to Luxembourg to get quality players. That will solve all our problems.

Everyone is pissed because he doesn't want Van der Vaart and want sissoko...
A lot more things too. That just opened up all this though.

Plenty can happen Jack, but when the Uomo Nero says VdV is coming...I believe it. I think the Sissoko shit is all a means of getting VdV's agent to drop the financial demands.

That's my opinion.

But VdV's arrival were mentioned first by Nedved (who is actually becoming a partial scout) and more importantly the Uomo Nero who is rarely off.

During 2nd half we faced 11 Catania players playing only in thier own half... I do think we played better then.
