I actually kind of agree with Vin, Ranieri is not the answer to our problems. He lacks the character, you'd need to manage a club of the scale of Juventus. I think we'd do well to have a top four finish with Claudio at the helm.

Do you mean that Ranieri is not Juventus material?
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. What did he have before Juve came calling? A newly acquired Manchester City for crying out loud. Saying it again, a top four finish under Claudio will be an achievement.

Winning is a habit. Currently, Juventus have the winning habit and know what it takes to win. Claudio Ranieri doesn't have the winning coach mentality simply because he hasn't tasted success of the kind Juventus as a club is used to. Whether it was at Valencia or Chelsea. I'm just scared given a massive influx of new players into the system, it could change the mentality of the team with him at the helm.

Ranieri does have his strenghts, but I'm afraid those aren't enough to consolidate our position as a scudetto winning club. Of course, it's unfair to jump to conclusions without giving somebody a chance, but in this case, one season would give us a clearer indication of where we actually are. And where we need to be.

Good analysis Baggio..

I'm with the optimist here when it comes to Ranieri, but u described him quite accurately along with the potential change in mentality.

I somehow have faith in the new coach.
Maybe not winning any major silverware trough the years will motivate him ,knowing that Juventus now needs to show that is not dead & buried , but looking for revenge and reclaiming his status of superclub in Italy and Europe. I think that this is maybe winning combination , but only time will tell...

It made me giggle you answered my question.

Let me ask you, what did Lippi win before he joined Juventus?

What did Mourinho win before he managed Porto?

What did Benitez win before he managed Valencia?

What did Ferguson win before he managed Aberdeen?

Please don't answer. I am in no position in discussing anything with someone writing off a new manager before even managing one game. The whole attitude on the forum is making me disgusted. But if that's what make the members glad, then be it. :pint:

-Let me answer ur question, Jacques:
Lippi, Mourinho, Benitez, Ferguson didnt manage any big name before they achieved something but at that time they were potential managers and then they really show their worth when they had their chance

Ranieri, on the other hand, managed some of the biggest clubs in the world, the likes Roma, Valencia and especially Chelsea in 03-04 season when they got big invest form Abramovich... and can u tell me what he had achieved? Almost nothing!!!

But I still hope he can prove me wrong next season

That's good because writing him off before even knowing what his plans are is just plain silly and on top childish.

since i didn't observe him that much before his recent valencia stint where everything turned to shit and his parma one where everything turned to gold, so i can't really say anything about him tactically.

my only issue is with him dealing with the management, since they seem to have some strange problem with keeping the faith. If he can do that effectively and keep it away from the dressing room then i think he will do better than many here expect.

Things are looking up in regards to signings, so there "shouldn't" be an issue in the terms of a squad for next season, and the only issues would be the former one i mentioned and expectations of what needs to be achieved.
