Thats not an injury lol. Thats extended recovery. This is an actual thing in strenghtsports. I give an example
He was injured, then he played, and NOW he gets extended recovery?

If he was injured but later his recovery was extended, I'd understand, but this way it doesn't make much sense.

His knee is in shit state surely. I doubt we'll see much from him in the future and I don't think we'll rely on him much. He probably destroy a big portion of his career with that injury.

You like to jerk off. At some point your wrist hurts. Like really bad. Tendons inflammated or a tear from the rampant fapping.
You rest it. Jerk a bit slower, not as long.

You'll think, damn, stuffs healed.

You start furious masturbation again. Suddenly your wrist hurts very badly again

Here is the deal. Your tendons recover, but in a sport or frequent hobby, they cant recover from the usual stuff as quickly.

In your case, you'll be forced to fap less, after waiting a while to let the tendon recovery catch up

In Marchisio's case, he'll get another 3/4 weeks of strengthening, and he'll probably play less games per week for quite a while.

His tendon cant recover from the normal recovery an athlete faces on a weekly basis. So he'll get another 3/4 weeks to build up the area, and he'll play not as many minutes/month as they had in mind

Lies. My wrist never hurts.
Untill you slip, hit something and crack the tendon.

Tendons repair very slowly. Trust me, i'm a powerlifter. Tendon recovery is gains

"“Following a problem with his left knee, which was the subject of surgery in 2016, Claudio Marchisio, accompanied by club doctor Dr Claudio Rigo, was put under clinical and instrumental tests by Dr Cugat in Barcelona,” it read.

“The need has since emerged for the player to undergo specific therapies and muscle-strengthening work.

“For this reason, he will not be available for the next 3-4 weeks.”"

Thats not an injury lol. Thats extended recovery. This is an actual thing in strenghtsports. I give an example

In benchpressing, when using proper form, your injuryprone point are the pectoralis majoris connections to the arms. When you try to go full progressive overload in your schedule, at some point you can start to experience pain. But if the muscle is strong and well maintained, it wont just snap. It will tear up.

You get one stroke of tearing. You rest and ice it. Next week or two, you use a slingshot which acts like a spring for the chest, lowering the stress levels, lowering the actual stress on the pecs when fully extended. Like this, you can keep training hard, and when your pain is gone for over a week, you can start to try without the slingshot again.

Same with Marchisio. Reading this, the damage his tendons and ligaments are suffering from preseason stressing, is too high compared to what his body can recover from. in order to prevent the ACL from tearing again when the damage is too high, he'll be but on strenghtening. if the ACL still cant keep up, they'll lower the stress loads and more strenghtening, which is why he's given 3-4 weeks off.

We need another CM cause what it actually means is that Marchisio wont be playing over 30 games this season

You're comparing muscle and overuse injuries with an acl tear. It's not the same.

More importantly though this is starting to become something chronic for Claudio. I'm not worried he'll tear his acl again. I'm worried he'll need to spend so much time building up his legs to support his knees that he can't actually focus on playing football.

I did not want Strootman but with this then I think we should go for him and considering how Roma have very low chances to advance from the CL group stage he should push for the move now.

The Man should try some Stem Cell Therapy on that area, it's the future of medicine and it's here.
