Juventus Midfielder Misses Start Of Pre-Season Through Illness
Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio will not join up with his team-mates for pre-season as originally scheduled due to the midfielder being sidelined by the flu.
The Bianconeri’s international players had been scheduled to return to training on July 20 to start pre-season ahead of the 2015-16 season.
However, the Italy international will not be present as according to Sky Sport Italia he has called in sick and no return date has yet been placed for Marchisio’s return to full fitness.
Marchisio was an important part of the Old Lady’s success last season; making 47 appearances in all competitions.
Marchisio’s value to the side is expected to increase following the departure of Andrea Pirlo for New York City FC and the Juve youth product signed a five-year contract at the start of July.
