He's easily the most unlucky guy on our team this season though. I admit this season hasn't been his so far, but he came so close to scoring on so many occasions that it almost seems cursed.

It does worry me how he's no longer a real attacking threat

Which is why I think it makes sense for him to play in Pirlos place whilst Pirlo is injured, allowing Pogba and Vidal to push up and actually make something happen.

I feel bad for Marchisio, it's all gone so wrong for him. He looked to finally be emerging after the undefeated season, now... not so much.

Pogba did not have an aweful performance. He just took care of some of the dirty work Marchisio does in most games.
He (Pogs) should really play in a more advanced position though, he's utilized way better there, while Marchisio would do a very fine job as the more defensive player of the midfield triade.

True. Marchisio exploded when Vucinic (especially in 4-3-3) operated with him on the left side and made those passes you're talking about. Claudio is really good with those penetrating runs. Excellent, actually. Llorente, Pogba and Tevez should find that final pass, because Marchisio offers them lots of opportunities to do it.
