Goalkeepers have a very little chance of parrying perfect shots. Penalties for example, once taken into the top right/left corner no goalie in the world can parry that.

In the situation in which Marchisio found himself heading the ball down wasn't the best solution, as he was too close to the goal. Usually you want the ball to hit the ground if you go for the shots like these, but from that distance he had to take it differently. IMHO

Marchisio badly needs a decisive goal to find his former self, he was very close against RM so I am hopefully it will be soon (hopefully Napoli :xfinger:). But he needs to understand that running a lot and helping team mates is not enough at the highest level.

Was a great header followed by an even greater save.

People hating in him for it.

How dare he, a central midfielder, force casillas into a world class save by not heading the ball into the upper right corner of the net while playing as a right attacking winger!
I blame Conte for not training his defensive central midfielders to play world class strikers' finishing techniques.

Vidal shot his header completely off target but thats okay it was a nice effort.

Marchisio did everything right with that change. :agree:

Did you find these penalties from memory or did you specifically go on youtube searching for AWESOME PK SAVES just to disprove his point? :D

I watched both live, specifically the Di Natale one, my mate is a stupidly obsessed Gooners fan and saw that replay over and over... Though I got a little satisfaction when he cried like a little girl when Fabregas, Nasri and RVP all left. :D

With all respect too, that Alonso one is just epic!

Part of me thinks we're mis-using him at times for Juve (Obviously we are in a 4-3-3 but that's not what I mean) because for Italy he's amazing as always. Would love to try 4-3-1-2 to accomodate all 4 of our midfielders without sacrificing one out wide.

Marchisio is one of the best BALANCED midfielders in the world. he attacks and defenders at the highest level. i think Pogba should be put in a more attacking role for the moment and let marchisio's experience shine in the midfield.

So

Vidal Pirlo Marchisio
Pogba
Tevez Llorente

or

Vidal Pirlo Marchisio
Pogba Tevez Llorente

pogba on the wing would destroy any full back.

Problem with MVP 2.0 is that it lacks creativity

So if we wanna do that, we need to go for a 4-3-3 imo, the lack of a Pirlo type player will be compensated for with 2 attackers who can create.

If we stick to 3-5-2 MVP 2.0 won't be great in transition from the mid to attack.
