Marchisio tests show 'no lesions'

By Football Italia staff

Claudio Marchisio and Juventus breathe a sigh of relief, as tests show “no lesions” to knee ligaments.

The midfielder bravely continued for at least 10 minutes after suffering a knock to the right knee, as there were no more substitutions in today’s 2-1 defeat to Sampdoria.

He eventually had to be stretchered off, but Juventus announced this evening that tests “showed no lesions.

There is only a heavy bruise to the knee.”

It is great news for Marchisio, as ligament damage or even a sprain could have kept him out for weeks or months.

Great news :) Man's such a warrior. I still think it was idiotic to let him keep playing after the first knock, even if it meant us playing 10 vs 10. He's that important

When i saw him in agony of the pain, images of del piero and ronaldo carried of the field in mid/late 90ties with torn ligaments, sprung to mind.

The fact that he is ok, totally made up for todays loss

he is such a little girl. limping away, crying. and then there was that image of him lying motionless like a corpse covered in a blanket.

only for it to be no big deal. this doesn't strike me as a captain material.
