That's not that slow, though. It's plenty to be able to stream games. Most streams are just really poor, it simply takes a bit to find a proper stream. I'm on 64Mbit/s and I struggle to find good ones.

why? on www.veetle.com are always good streams for juve serie A games.

Australia's internet is slower than the rest of the world because we have poor infrastructure. Thankfully Rudd introduced the NBN scheme so we should have caught up to at least part of the world in terms of internet in two years or so. We'll still be behind the majority of the developed world though who were rolling out this internet infrastucture 10 years ago.

I don't buy that. When America was (and is) saddled with a copper wire infrastructure, Australia was able to invest instead in modern networks -- ISDN, DSL, fiber, microwave links, etc.

Broadband in Australia is only available to around 70% of the population with our rural area's being left out mostly with a capacity speed of something like only a few megabits per second and 30Mb/s in metropolitan areas only. As I understood it, internet speed in countries like the US and Japan sit around 100mb/s which is what the new National Broadband Network will provide to 93% of our population.
