Actually, Lippi planned to play him in the hole during the WC in a 4-2-3-1. It didn't work out but there were many other reasons.

If Conte continues the 4-2-3-1 with Vidal behind the striker... Marchisio can probably rotate with him during the match.

Good game by Marchisio, and that goal was fucking brilliant.

The goal didnt suprise me, I expect that from him (has knack for such goals), but what I was overjoyed with was the offensive runs and the link ups he had with Vidal, Pirlo and Vuci (last one dissapointed in passing back). It was pretty cool to see. Even if Parma was awful, showed his best kinda use there. As I allways said, he is defenitely considerably better in a 4-3-3 in a 3 man midfield, then 2 man CM pairing.
