LOL Zacheryah Marchi was scoring goals when he was in CM at the start of the season.

DN adjusted the team to fit Aqui, as he had been overhyped by him and Marrotta.

Two seasons ago, under Ferrara and Zaccheroni, Marchisio was one of the few bright spots of the team. With Nedved having retired, Camo injured and inconsistent and with Melo and Sissoko being unreliable, Marchisio looked really sharp in a few games and was the only reliable component of the midfield, and this is when I started to hype him. He had put in a few good games the season before, such as the one against Milan and also when subbed in against Chelsea away. I was sure the World Cup was going to be his big breakthrough.

Last season was a bit of a disappointment and highlighted his main weakness. Some of his best performances earlier seasons were when everyone else failed or when he played alongside Sissoko. The latter partnership wasn't always the best but it forced Marchisio to take some responsibility and make things happen by himself. Not to mention that neither the strikers or the other attacking players were all that reliable.

This season, we suddenly had Aquilani, Krasic and a new-born Melo alongside Quag/Matri and Claudio disappeared a bit regardless of the position he played in. He's better on the ball than given credit for but last season he'd rather take the simple path and give it to one of the above to do the hard work. I hope Conte finds a way to slot him into the team because I still remember enough of his non-"invisible" (never gets old...) games to believe he can live up to some of the hype and have a very good career with us.

he started CM next to melo, did it so bad he was replaced by aquilani for the entire season.

Because pepe failed on the left, and martinez was injured, he had the chance on the right and didnt do much really.

He never showed anything close to the grid and determination he talked about in the papers. on the field, he dissapeared.

Krasic was our best midfielder, till he got tired
aquilani played well untill we lost quag
melo comes after that, but was a liability for stupid ass faults.

i really question people who honestly think marchisio was anything close to good last season, and arent biassed by him
When I said our best midfielder, it meant OUR best midfielder. It doesn't say much, since many midfielders were better than him last season in Serie A. I hope you get my point.

Juventus' Claudio Marchisio: I am a central midfielder, not a winger
Marchisio was deployed on the left in the recent friendly game against Sporting Lisbon, but played alongside Andrea Pirlo in the centre of the pitch in Tuesday's 1-0 friendly win over America.

"I'm a centre midfielder and not a winger. I have never had any doubts about this. The coach has now told me that he sees me like that too and I'm very pleased with his comments," Marchisio was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

The 25-year-old then discussed his side's friendly victory and stated his delight with Juventus' performance, as winger Cristian Pasquato netted the only goal of the contest.

He added: "The coach doesn't want us to lose possession and just hit the ball forward. We have to rely on each other and should use the goalkeeper whenever necessary. That's exactly what we did. We were not afraid to take a bit of risk and quickly moved the ball around. This progress is important for the future."
